Huy Tran Electrician LLC

Huy Tran Electrician is a one-person outfit based in Quincy that Google reviewers keep turning to during outages. Huy handles residential wiring, panel upgrades, generator backup, EV charger installation, and — per the company's own listing — ductless HVAC work around Quincy and the South Shore. The clearest theme across a dozen five-star reviews from 2023 through 2025 is speed under pressure. One customer wrote that after days of power outages during a heat wave, Huy answered a Thursday-afternoon call about a power issue when other electricians seemed more interested in upselling extra work. Another reviewer with two separate outages said Huy 'always prioritized me as a customer.' Beyond emergencies, reviewers describe him wiring and installing light fixtures for a new salon, installing security cameras and new lighting in a home, and doing repeat electrical work across a home and rental units at prices they call reasonable and not expensive. There's one specific, detailed complaint worth knowing about: a May 2025 review describes Huy initially quoting a reasonable price, then trying to add roughly $3,500 for a hood vent duct and roof opening not in the original scope — a jump the customer wasn't willing to pay. It's worth pinning down the full scope and price in writing before work starts, especially since the company's own website still carries some uncustomized template text and unrelated testimonials, so it's not the most reliable place to double-check details. Public permit filings in Boston list 47 permits since 2023, with a 79% closure rate on rated permits — about 29 points above the city median. For a straightforward electrical job or an outage that needs a fast answer, Huy Tran's reviewers describe someone reliable and quick to respond — just get the full scope and price in writing if a project might grow beyond the original ask.
