HVAC Plus LLC installs and services heating and cooling systems; its website lists HVAC maintenance and installs, boiler services, air handlers and ductwork, mini-split installations and hot water heaters. The company says it has been in business 20 years, and its stated service area runs from Dover, Durham and Somersworth out to Portsmouth, Exeter, Rochester, Eliot and South Berwick. A recent customer had a coil replaced while the existing cabinet was reused, with only the cover panel swapped, and said the new Bosch 5-ton heat pump took the house from 86F to 72F in about 4 1/2 hours. Steve fixed a leak for a recent customer, who called him informative about what the issue was and how it would be fixed. A recent customer said Steve's responsiveness during a weekend basement emergency saved them from a disaster. A 2026 customer said Steve got out in less than 2 hours, after 5pm, for a natural gas furnace that quit, got the part first thing the next morning, and had the heat back on. A 2026 reviewer wrote that after a house fire, Steve did all of the HVAC work for the rebuild. In a 2025 review, a customer said HVAC-Plus replaced a 20-year-old oil furnace and AC system: when the heating unit died in winter, Steve had a new system warming the house in 2 days, and in the spring he completed a hybrid system with a 5-ton heat pump. During a heat wave over Southern Maine, a 2025 customer said Steve told them he could come out that day, and within an hour of his being there the AC was running again. A 2025 customer said Steve re-piped, connected and tested propane to their range and grill. A 2024 customer adding central air to a remodeled house chose a full ducted system with two air handlers and a large-capacity mini split for the second floor, and added heat pumps at Steve's suggestion. The Better Business Bureau gives the company a D+ grade and lists one complaint against it.
