Two homeowners called this Dracut shop about the same kind of problem within days of each other in February. One had a grinding air conditioner that other technicians had failed to quiet; Chris sorted it and the noise stopped. The other had a heating unit die after a storm, watched a technician look at it for under five minutes, was told it was beyond saving and quoted $10,000 for a replacement — then called another company, which repaired the unit for a fraction of that. Both stories are true, and together they are the shape of this business. HVAC Service Doctors covers plumbing, heating and cooling for homes and businesses, and says it has been at it for over 20 years, working Dracut and out across the Boston metro counties. The speed is real: a family left without air conditioning had the system replaced immediately, a bathroom tap running water across the floor got an emergency visit, and technicians here get thanked by name — Chris, Freddy, Calvin — more often than the company itself does. The fault line is installations. Across a long history on Angi and HomeAdvisor the average sits at 4.3, but a stubborn 11% of those 344 ratings are one star, and the low ones are not vague — they describe replacement systems that came back to bite: wiring that failed repeatedly and burned, old refrigerant lines reused, a warranty that turned out not to cover the half of the system left in place. One customer also reported the company was not in the Massachusetts heating rebate network, which cost them thousands they had expected to claim. The Better Business Bureau grades the business D-, and it says why: failure to respond to two complaints filed against it. That is not a judgment about the work; it is about what happens when a job goes wrong and the customer escalates. Read alongside the install complaints, it is the single most useful thing on this page. Also worth knowing before you call: the company trades under more than one name — its BBB file at this same Dracut address reads A-Plus Home Service Doctors, its Angi and HomeAdvisor pages read Home Service Doctors incorporated and give an Andover base — so confirm which entity your contract and warranty are with. For a fast repair or a system that quit in a cold snap, the response times here are well attested. For a full replacement, get the scope in writing — refrigerant lines, electrical, what exactly the warranty covers — confirm rebate eligibility before signing, and ask for the licence numbers of whoever will do the work.

Chris and his team were quick, professional, and super friendly. My parents were without AC and they came out immediately to replace the system. Thank you!

I was so annoyed by the grinding sound of my AC. I showed that to many professionals, but after a week, it started creating the sound again, finally my neighbour told me about the Home Service Doctors. I immediately made a call and hired them. Chris did a fantastic job. There is no more noise from my AC. Thanks You.

I immediately called them when my bathroom tap was running continuously, and there was water all around my space. Thankfully, Calvin arrived on time. He managed the situation very well! Thanks, Home Service Doctors, for the emergency help.Thanks.

Sharing my air conditioning/heating problems with a co-worker, they suggest I call Chris at Home Service Doctors Plumbing & HVAC, telling him that Freddy referred me. This is one time I am so glad I took a suggestion from someone at work! Not only did Freddy and his team replaced my air conditioning/heating system, but they also inspected my water heater and suggested it was time to be flushed. With the 20% off that Chris offered me, the cost was extremely fair, and the quality of the work was professional and thorough. One of the best experiences I've had with a contractor since moving to Massachusetts

I'm sorry to say that our experience with Home Service Doctors was not good. After our heating unit broke during the last storm, the technician showed up, spent not even 5 minutes looking at our unit and professed that it was unfixable and that we'd have to spend $10,000 to get a new unit. Luckily we made a second call to a different company and saved $7,000 to repair the unit that was in perfectly good working order, but just needed a small replacement. Save your money. Look elsewhere
