A lot of Imax Plumbing's work starts at a Home Depot counter or with a HomeServe warranty claim, and the story that says the most about the company is a bad toilet. A customer in October 2025 bought a Kohler that would not work after the first installation; the Imax plumbers came back, exchanged it at Home Depot themselves, and fitted the replacement. Another, in April 2026, had the product delayed and then arrive broken, and wrote that the crew stayed courteous and patient through the whole mess before the eventual install went in fast. The company is based in Lynn and says it is family-owned, with 16 years in the trade and a founder who spent more than 13 years at All Clear Filters. Its Massachusetts plumber licence, 16955-PL-M, is active on the state registry, held by Jorge Morales, and the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office lists the company as a certified Minority Business Enterprise through December 2026. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+ and lists DCAMM, SBE and OSHA certifications on the profile. Work covers residential and commercial plumbing, gas fitting, sewer, water heaters and boilers, with 24/7 emergency service and a stated service area reaching from Boston and Somerville out to Lawrence, Waltham and Revere. The jobs people describe run from small to serious. In January 2025 a customer had a 140-year-old cast-iron drain stack replaced from the second floor to the basement in a house of the same age, with plumbers and drywall workers both on site. In March 2025 another had internal and external repairs that ran out into the street, and said Imax dealt with HomeServe on their behalf to get the project moving. A February 2026 customer had three smart bidet toilets installed; a May 2026 customer had new vanities fitted and toilets reset after water damage, with Kelly coordinating from the office. Two customers raise the same problem, and it is about the phone, not the pipes. In July 2024 a 1-star reviewer with a gas leak, shut off by National Grid and caring for an elderly person, described being promised a visit and then hearing nothing. In March 2025 another took a star off an otherwise strong gas-line job because the confirmed appointment time was not honored and they had to chase it on the morning. With 106 Google ratings averaging 4.9, this is a solid call for a retailer or warranty installation, gas work, or a drain replacement in an old house. Get the appointment date and time confirmed in writing, and ask who you can reach on the day if nobody has turned up.
