A 2026 commenter on r/AskMaine wrote of being at their wits' end with Irving, needing to call and remind the company about fill-ups while on automatic delivery and autopay. A 2025 commenter said their parents in their 80s went over a week with Irving with a tank below 10%. A 2025 commenter on r/portlandme listed Irving among several dealers that each gave a 5 to 10 day window. A 2022 commenter on r/Maine, on autofill with Irving, said the company had been good with service but objected to the price of that day's delivery. A 2026 commenter said Irving had a contraption with an antenna on their 500 gallon tank that monitors the propane level. Came here for gas since I’m an Irving rewards member, I got out and started to pump. My spouse in the car wanted a drink so I went inside and left the pump running since my spouse was out in the car. I was walking in and I noticed the staff member on shift staring at me hard through the window. I thought nothing of it, grabbed my drink and went to pay. She then informed me “she stopped the pump and said I can’t leave it unattended”. I told her it’s not unattended someone’s in the car. Plenty of people start pumping their gas and get in the car and wait. I asked about the 2 dollars off I was getting while pumping from my rewards. She said “that’s not my problem”. I quietly left seeing this person was clearly not well. This behavior is presumptuous and rude. Especially with gas prices the way they are. I had to pay 50$ extra filling my tank because this person wants to power trip. She could have asked when I walked in if it was unattended, since she was clearly watching me. There was no one else at any pump. Do better.
As always, gas, snacks and a clean bathroom. Good service.
