A recent r/portlandme commenter said they normally buy their oil from Maine Standard Biofuels, and that the company has a service department now. A local business site has described it as a biorefinery in Portland that recycles cooking oil into products including transportation fuel and home heating oil. The company says its fuels are cleaner-burning replacements for petroleum diesel and #2 heating oil, available at the pump and delivered. A 2026 customer wrote that fuel was usually delivered within 3 days, although the company promises delivery within 7 days. A 2026 customer who had received one-time fuel assistance from the State of Maine said the company delivered a full tank while waiting for the state's payment, and said they had received same-day delivery without extra fees during emergencies. In a 2025 review, a customer who had bought a new oil tank and furnace said they chose B20 biofuel to keep the furnace clean and reduce their CO2 emissions. A 2025 customer said a second delivery they had not ordered arrived four days after a full-tank fill, overflowed their tank and spilled fuel onto the floor, and that more than a week later no one from the company had contacted them to remedy it. A 2022 reviewer said the company had twice left their restaurant with a full waste oil tank and that nobody answered their calls.

This is such a good mission driven company. I have been using their fuel for many many years in my home, they are always on time, always helpful, and always friendly.
Wonderful to have a choice other than petroleum. This Company is using cooking oil which would end up in a landfill, to make heat and clean energy. Love it. Everyone very pleasant and Efficient– A no-brainer – check it out!!
