J Smegal Roofing & Renovations is a roofing company whose website says it has been fixing roofing problems in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties since 2010. The site identifies Jason Smegal as owner, describes the company as family-owned, and presents it as Klaus Roofing Systems by J Smegal, offering residential and commercial roofing, gutter and skylight services across Massachusetts and Vermont. On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 302 ratings. Houzz shows five of its projects. A 2023 Houzz reviewer gave one star and wrote that J Smegal Roofing told them the job was done right, but that a year later they had severe leaks and water damage. That 2023 reviewer said mold build-up had caused health issues for their son, who now had issues breathing and had developed a severe cough. The same 2023 reviewer said they had paid $20,000 for the roof replacement and could not afford repairs.
“the addition was completed using a variety of local contractors, including A.M. Estate Management, All Star Excavation in Lenox, LePrevost Plumbing & Heating, Pignatelli Electrical Contractors, Arseneau Construction, J Smegal Roofing & Renovations, and Lee Tile & Stone.”
J smegal roofing looked me in the eye and told me the job was done right. a year later I have severe leaks and water damage. the mold build up has caused health issues for my son who now has issues breathing and has developed a severe cough. I trusted this man but shame on me for not checking the work afterwards. I am out of work and can't afford repairs after I paid this man $20,000 for a roof replacement last year. Jason Smegal has changed my life forever
