Tech Roofing Service, Inc.

Two roof sections at the Smith & Wesson plant in Springfield, $212,328 apiece in 2024 — that is the scale Tech Roofing Service works at. The Chicopee company's permit history on BuildZoom runs 101 projects deep, most of them large commercial flat-roof replacements: $342,995 in Randolph in 2021, $229,995 on Interstate Drive in West Springfield in 2023, two buildings on Union Street the year after. Underneath that it is a family shop. The company says it began in 1971 as a partnership, incorporated as Tech Roofing Service in 1975, and is now run by its third and fourth generations — Joe Narkawicz as president, Joshua Narkawicz as vice president, Dylan Narkawicz as safety coordinator. Its site describes commercial and industrial roofing across New England and into parts of New York: installation, repair, maintenance, infrared inspections, gutters, rooftop safety and snow removal, with 24/7 emergency service. A 2019 roofing trade article described administrators calling the company in to repair leaks and assess a roof made up of several interlocking steep-slope and low-slope sections. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #124864, is active on the state registry, and its minority business enterprise certification with the state's Supplier Diversity Office is active on that registry too. The Better Business Bureau has accredited it since 2002 at an A+ grade, and puts the business at 51 years. The customer-facing side is smaller: 12 Google ratings averaging 5 stars. A June 2026 customer described a roof replacement that ran from the first estimate through to the final cleanup, with the crew arriving on time and working efficiently. An August 2026 review named the crews and the office staff; a 2025 one called the place well organized and very busy. For a homeowner the thing to weigh is scope. The permits are overwhelmingly big low-slope commercial jobs, with residential shingle work turning up now and then — a $32,895 roof in Longmeadow in 2022. If your job is a house roof, ask where it would sit in that schedule and who leads the crew on a residential day. If you look after a building, school or plant with a leaking flat roof, this is squarely their work — confirm the registration on the state register and get the maintenance plan in writing before you sign.
