Jay's Improvements is a small, family-owned handyman business that says it serves Natick and nearby communities and brings more than 35 years of experience. The company's own site describes handyman repairs, painting and staining, hardscaping, roofing, drywall, carpentry, minor plumbing, light electrical work, flooring, appliance installation, HVAC work, demolition, pressure washing, furniture assembly, and hanging services. The written customer record is consistently positive, though it is modest in size and partly dated. A March 2026 Angi reviewer said Jay is professional and plans to hire him again. In a March 2025 Google review, a homeowner described a three-day drywall-and-painting repair above a shower, including scraping, skim coating, priming, repainting the ceiling, explaining the process, and leaving the bathroom spotless. A February 2025 Angi reviewer said Jay installed an electric vented dryer, cleaned its vent, worked knowledgeably, and cleaned up. A 2024 Google reviewer recommended him for preparing a house for sale, while another 2024 reviewer described him as trustworthy and dependable across varied household jobs. The older record adds specific examples but should be read as history: 2023 feedback praised craftsmanship and reasonable pricing; 2015 reviews described odd-job repairs, fair prices, prompt communication, neat work, and a good-value assortment of repairs. Google shows five ratings at five stars, and Angi shows eight ratings at five stars; BBB gives an A grade but has no customer-star rating and lists two years in business. Confirm licensing and the working address before booking. The Massachusetts registry evidence identifies HIC license 171962 as expired, and BuildZoom likewise reports that number inactive/expired while placing a matching-name profile in East Bridgewater. The website says Natick, BBB lists Natick, and Angi lists Wayland, so a written quote should confirm the current service area, license status, insurance, and exactly which parts of a larger project Jay will perform. This looks best suited to homeowners seeking responsive help with small repairs, drywall and painting, installations, and varied maintenance work.
Jay is professional and does great work. I plan to hire him again.
Jay did a professional job resurfacing the drywall above our shower that has been peeling persistently. He took the time to explain the process during his first visit, then followed through over the next three days - scrape, skim coat, oil prime, final painting of entire bathroom ceiling so it all blended. Jay left the bathroom spotless despite what I know was a lot of dust after he sanded the spackle. We will be calling on Jay for multiple projects around our home, including electrical, other drywall repair, and painting. Jay is very prompt in responding to messages and is a very personable presence. Don’t hesitate to have Jay come over and do some work on your house!
Jay installed our electric vented dryer. He did a fabulous job. He also cleaned out our vent. He was friendly, knowledgeable and cleaned up. We will definitely hire him again for other jobs.
Jay was a life saver for us! anybody who’s getting the house ready for sale MUST call him. His work is amazing and so perfect. He’s super smart and conscientious- a combo hard to beat.
Jay was very professional, prompt and efficient. I'd hire him again without question.
