Johnstone Plumbing & Heating is the Billerica call for practical plumbing and heating work, from water-heater replacements to boiler installations and household repairs. The company operates from 26 Glenwood Rd, and its Massachusetts plumber license 4640-PL-C is registry-verified active under Johnstone Plumbing Inc. The written reviews, spanning 2022 through 2024, repeatedly describe clean, careful work and unusually direct communication. A 2024 homeowner contacted Dan on a Saturday after a leak-detector warning near a water heater; Dan responded Sunday and arranged the replacement. In 2023, reviewers described a thorough boiler installation completed in a couple of days, and a 2022 review says the company replaced a failed boiler and leaking shower valve after diagnosing the problems by phone. Heating work is a recurring theme, but this is not only a boiler shop. Reviewers also mention water heaters, bathroom renovation estimates, plumbing repairs, and work across multiple properties. A realtor said Dan's work was neat and organized and that clients had good things to say; another customer described fair pricing and quick, clean work. The main limitation is recency: the 13 written reviews run through 2024 rather than the last six months, and the page shows 14 Google ratings overall. Before booking, confirm the current schedule, the exact scope of a larger bathroom or heating project, and the estimate details. The reviews describe prompt communication, but they do not establish a current 24/7 availability policy. Johnstone looks best suited to homeowners who want one plumber for both everyday repairs and heating-system work, with a documented history of tidy installations. Confirm the work plan and price in writing, then verify that the active license holder matches the contracting entity on the proposal.
I found Johnstone plumbing on Google because I wanted to support a local company . I contacted them on a Saturday after my leak detector warned me of water near my water heater . Dan responded Sunday and we set up a time to replace it . They get an A plus for their communication through the whole process . It’s refreshing to see a company understand the importance of not leaving customers unsure of what is going on . I’ve already referred a friend in need of a plumber .
they were fast and very professorial and nice clean work thank you guys cant live without water I want to update my review when you don't know what you're doing just call the plumber thank God for Johnstone Plumbing once again did fantastic work nice clean and fast thank you again guys very reasonable on the price too
Great service. Thank you.
This may not be your typical review because I don’t know the owner or have had them do any work for me. I called for an estimate on a bathroom renovation and Dan answered right away and didn’t seem in a rush to get me off the phone. He said he was very interested in the job but was on a big job that may not be over by when I needed the work done, so he didn’t want to commit to a timeline he couldn’t keep. He referred me to a friend of his and told me to call him back if I couldn’t get in touch or needed more references. That’s the kind of business you want to work with. I would definitely call him again for work in the future.
Dan is an awesome guy, came by on a Sunday to give an estimate for a blown water heater and I would do business with him in the future 👍
