Jonasson Plumbing & Heating is the Needham family business people call for plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning work. The company says it has served the area since 1976, is owner-operated by Carl H. Jonasson Jr., and now works alongside his son Travis, a master plumber. A Massachusetts registry record identifies Carl Jonasson as the holder of active plumber licence 8774-PL-M. The strongest praise is about long-term familiarity and dependable technical work. In a January 2026 Google review, a customer said they had used the company for more than 20 years and found it honest and knowledgeable. A 2025 reviewer described heating, air-conditioning, and plumbing work that held up, with a problem made right, while another praised the family business as the best in Needham. A 2023 news article also described Carl Jonasson prioritizing regular customers for repairs, and an undated trade article identifies Travis as a fourth-generation plumber working with his father. Price and communication deserve a direct conversation before booking. A July 2026 Google review said rates were nearly double competing quotes and described an expensive leaking-toilet repair alongside abrasive and unresponsive communication. The BBB profile repeats the pricing complaint in a truncated review, while carrying an A+ grade and no accreditation. Ask for a written estimate, the service-call and repair charges, who will handle the work, and how follow-up concerns are handled. They are a plausible call for homeowners who value an established Needham plumbing and HVAC shop and want to discuss ongoing service with a family business. Confirm scope and total price in writing before authorizing work.
“Technicians with Jonasson Plumbing and Heating of Needham, Massachusetts noticed several lockouts on a Laars HT1.330 Mascot high-efficiency boiler system from poor flow and high temperatures, discovering that the water was very muddy and sludgy.”
“Carl Jonasson, owner of C.H. Jonasson Corp., a Needham-based plumbing, heating, and air conditioning contractor, said he’s prioritizing regular customers, who can probably get a repair scheduled within a couple of days.”
“Plumber Travis Jonasson has spent the last 48 hours or so jumping from soggy house to soggy house as his phone buzzes away on his belt with calls he doesn't really have time to answer.”
“Travis Jonasson, a fourth-generation professional plumber, works with his father Carl, who has run Jonasson Plumbing since its founding a half-century ago in 1976.”
Responsive, kind, efficient
Mr. Jonasson's rates were nearly double his competition. He charged more to fix a leaking toilet than the actual installation. He is also one of the most abrasive, combative, unresponsivess, obnoxious businesspeople I have ever encountered. I made the big mistake of reading his Google reviews which clearly were plants instead of those on other review sites. My advice? Search carefully, scroll down to the legitimate critical reviews and find one of genuinely well reviewed, civil, competitively priced alternatives.
