W.T. Colpitts Plumbing, Heating & Gasfitting

W.T. Colpitts has been the plumber in Needham since 1942 — 84 years, by the company's own count, still family-owned, with two Master Plumbers on staff handling plumbing, heating and gasfitting for houses, businesses and industrial buildings around town. The written history is short but specific. In a December 2022 review, a customer described Robby coming by the house a few times, recommending what should be done, giving a price and fixing a couple of things — and singled out how particular he is about detail, especially on heating systems. In a September 2022 review, a homeowner left a voicemail on a Friday afternoon, got a call back Monday morning, and had a rusted shower faucet cartridge replaced that same morning. Its Google page averages 4.5 stars across 10 ratings, and its Better Business Bureau profile is accredited with an A+ grade. The work the company and the BBB describe is everyday residential plumbing and gas: boilers and gas heating, water heaters, drain stoppages, sump pumps, fixtures, toilets and shower valves, plus gas grills, firepits and fireplaces. This is the shop for the Needham homeowner who wants a heating system or a gas line handled by people who have been doing it in one town for generations, rather than a big remodel crew. Ask which of the two Master Plumbers takes your job, and ask for the price before the work starts — that is how the 2022 customer described it going.
