Nineteen ratings on Houzz, every one of them five stars, and the same first name running through nearly all of them: Chris. Jordan Custom Carpentry and Remodeling is a small Norwood shop built around its owner — the company says Chris Jordan runs it and that it has been at this about ten years — and the work people hire it for is the kind where somebody has to be on site daily keeping the trades moving. Bathrooms are the through-line. In a December 2018 review a homeowner described hiring him to gut a small 1980s master bath: the demo crew arrived on the day promised, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, tilers, painters and glass installers were sequenced behind them, and the room was finished in the agreed six weeks and on budget. A 2023 customer had a primary bathroom done with a custom cabinet and a "smart" shower, then brought him back to turn a three-season sleeping porch into a year-round room. A January 2025 account runs longer still — lower-level mudroom, bathroom and family room, the main bathroom, then the full exterior of doors, windows, siding, deck and front stairs. Smaller jobs get the same treatment. The most recent written account, from December 2025, is a single window replacement: done perfectly, the work area left spotless. That detail keeps recurring — several homeowners mention the site being swept and livable at the end of each day, and a 2021 reviewer, twenty years into owning their house, called him the most conscientious contractor they had worked with. One thing to settle before signing. In the state registry, the home improvement contractor registration on file for Christopher Jordan — number 183793, the same number the company's own site and its Houzz profile print — has expired. BuildZoom shows that number as inactive too, and lists a newer registration, #203720, issued in November 2025; that one we haven't checked against the registry. His Massachusetts construction supervisor licence, CS-106695, is active and registry-verified. Ask which home improvement registration is current and confirm it with the state yourself before work starts. If you're planning a bathroom or a multi-room renovation and want one person running the trades rather than a rotating crew, this is the shape of contractor to call. The written history is unblemished but modest and concentrated — nineteen ratings on Houzz, one on BuildZoom, spread across seven years — so treat it as a solid small-shop record rather than a deep one, get the registration question answered, and ask to see a recent job like yours.
“President at Jordan Custom Inc. (Jordan Custom Carpentry and Remodeling) with 13 years 6 months of experience. Based in Norwood, Massachusetts, United States [US].”
Meticulous, professional, and detail-oriented. The window replacement was done perfectly and the work area was left spotless. Would absolutely use him again.
Chris completed a large remodel including our lower level - mudroom, bathroom and family room, main bathroom and full exterior - doors, windows, siding, deck, front stairs. Communication was excellent from bid to completion. He was patient with questions and had great attention to detail. Any follow up issues were handled promptly.
Chris did a fantastic job on two projects at our house. The first was remodeling our primary bathroom. We had a lot of different requests from building a custom cabinet to installing a "smart" shower. Ultimately, the bathroom came out beautifully and as imagined. The second project was to update our 3-season sleeping porch into a true extension of our home. The entire space was updated, including leveling the floor. Chris helped us work through a number of decisions and changes. The result is now the prettiest room in our house. Throughout both processes, Chris was very communicative and the projects were wrapped up faster than we expected they would take.
Chris was extremely professional and communicated very consistently with us throughout the renovation. He was helpful in helping us stay within our budget. The work area was always left in a clean and livable condition.
