In an August 2026 Google review, a customer describes six days of work by Josh and Manny painting a two-story cathedral ceiling and walls, water damage repairs included, and writes that no one can detect where the former roof leaked. A July 2026 reviewer says Josh restored damage from a leaky roof and helped match an older paint color, and in a June 2024 review a customer says Josh fixed ceiling drywall after a bathroom leak. Josh High End Painting is a Torrington company; Google shows 5 stars from 40 ratings, with 5.0 from 7 ratings each on HomeAdvisor and Angi. The August 2026 reviewer says Josh answered the first inquiry immediately, viewed the job within the week, gave a detailed written quote with a guarantee and a count of business days, and gave notice each day of arriving and leaving. A May 2026 reviewer says Josh and his helper Manny painted the walls, ceiling and trim in two large rooms. A March 2024 reviewer had a large wrap-around deck, stairs, privacy walls and railings sanded and stained. Another March 2024 review describes Josh power washing siding and clearing moss from pavers and a rooftop in one day, and a December 2021 reviewer had power washing, gutter cleaning, a wasps nest removed and a moss-covered garage roof cleared the same day. A February 2026 reviewer had the exterior of a home painted, and a June 2022 reviewer had all three floors of a house repainted inside, garage included. In a December 2024 4-star review, a customer whose main floor was painted says the big drywall repairs went well, but some imperfections were not sanded and blended, trim was not taped, and the top edge above the doors in a hallway was painted; Josh came back the next day to fix issues the customer texted about. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0671603, is active in the state registry, held by Josh High End Painting LLC.
Josh was extremely responsive. He took care of my mom’s paint job with skill and care. He treated us as important customers. We’ll use him again.
Where to start? Bullet points first. Every single opportunity Josh had to not just rise to the opportunity of excellence, but meet the expectations of but a few...he did it or surpassed it. *Immediately answered first inquiry. *Repeated back what potential customer was asking for. *Asked permission to view the scope of project. *Did so within the week. *Was completely transparent about his present schedule with current client. *Made an immediate projection about when he would be able to complete job. *Gave a full, detailed quote in writing over the next few days with a thorough guarantee about what it covers. *Projection included how many business days to complete. *The 2 people named in the reviews (Josh and Manny) showed up and were the only people who came daily until they were through. *Notified us each day he was coming and when he was leaving. Politely asked permission for any changes. *Was utterly respectful, quiet and kind throughout their 6 days of work painting a gigantic two story cathedral ceiling and walls including water damage repairs. *Not only can no one detect the damage where the former roof leaked, but he literally left the house better than the builder. It looks like a new build, no kidding. I can't say enough good things about this kind, gentle upbeat and PLEASANT beyond pleasant man and small company. Kept the job orderly and clean every minute there were there. All our things were well covered and protected. My things were given back to me better than I took care of them, which is great. Story: It took me 10 months to get this room painted... Painter #1: Good friend's family member. Doesn't do scaffolds and high places anymore, understood. Moved on quickly. Painter #2 I did a local search on FB because I thought between all the local "chatter" groups, I'd get the straight scoop by reading reviews and mainly the comment section. This guy had glowing reviews and I didn't doubt it. Had him over twice, great repore been in business over 20 years. Fell off ladder first day. I'll stop there. This was Oct. Painter #3 Fast forward to February, I asked my friends if they knew someone they trusted. My very close friend gave me a name and I looked into their reviews and called. It was a bit of a run around since it seems more than one person is handling the phones. Finally got to "the" guy in February. He suggested an opening 8 months later and texted, "will contact you soon." Never did. Painters #4 and #5 Josh There were 2 painters in my area of Torrington that have 5 star ratings. Painter #4 happened to be the first one I called. He gave me a quote and we had an agreement. I offered a deposit he said, no we collect that on the first day of work, I later understood why. (I also called a second (Josh) to be prudent.) Painter #4 said he should have April free, I said ok. May came and I said, "Any day is fine except Memorial Day." He said "Ok, I will call you in June," and never did. I thought to myself you know, this is a really large extensive job with the staircase double high ceiling, expensive paint etc...I am not going to chase someone down and beg them to take our money. He said he'd call in June, I waited 2 weeks into July and called Josh back who had also come to give that immediate quote but I had already asked the other man. I said if you don't mind the scaffold to make us feel better, please come and accept the job. He was delighted and actually LOOKED so! He LOVES his work and is the most appreciative contractor and maybe person I have ever met. He is the type of person you wish you could be around more, no kidding.... And the rest is history as they say. I wanted to right this because good deeds deserve equal consideration. I also wanted to honestly save someone some grief. Finally getting my living room together and it looks like a million bucks....First photo was before, was a lot of damage peeling at seem you can not see. (last photo is fan shadow) SW Anew Gray came out fabulous. Couldn't be any happier with this project!
Josh is true to his name. His work is impeccable. He followed through with his word. Went up and above in helping me match an older paint color. Josh and Manny were amazing. It's apparent that they enjoy their work and did an incredible job. They work neatly with great respect for your home. They are prompt and so personable. The cost was reasonable and it was a pleasure meeting them and having them in my home. Great job! Thank you both so much.
