JPA Contracting is a Danvers remodeling outfit built around its owner, Joe, and a small crew customers name individually — Bill, Chris and Juliano turn up by name in the reviews about as often as the company does. The work runs from single jobs to whole sections of a house. In March 2026 a couple described adding a dormer, gutting and rebuilding two bedrooms and a full bathroom and adding a second half bath in a house over 140 years old; they credited Joe with handling the permitting proactively, connecting them with a local architect for the plans, and being straight about what each surprise behind the walls would take to fix. Another March 2026 customer had a dark basement gutted and reopened as usable living space. In May 2026 a customer who is a contractor himself, and says he is picky about who works on his own home, had a side deck rebuilt on time and on budget. Smaller jobs come up just as often: a kitchen backsplash in March 2026, an exterior deck and a bathroom closet in January 2026, and across late 2025 a full bathroom gut, a bay window, a front entry porch followed by a rear deck, a patio and walkway, a fence, cellar stairs, a window replacement and a storm door. One October 2025 customer listed five separate jobs over several years, including repairing framing and supports on a newer Trex deck another contractor had not built properly. Two things recur in nearly every account: communication and hitting the number. Customers describe being kept informed at each stage and use the phrase on time and on budget. An October 2025 reviewer called the crew efficient and reasonably priced and noted they cleaned up every area; another that month said they were fast and priced fair, and wrote that three years after a complete remodel there had not been a single issue with the work. The company describes itself as fully licensed, bonded and insured. That is its own statement rather than a verified one, and Massachusetts requires a Home Improvement Contractor registration for this kind of work — ask for the HIC number and check it on the state's Contractor Hub before you sign anything. It is also worth knowing that several unrelated businesses trade as JPA Contracting in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, so confirm you are dealing with the Danvers company at jpacontracting.com. For kitchens, bathrooms, decks and whole-room remodels on the North Shore, this is a small contractor with an unusually specific and recent run of customer accounts behind it.
Hired JPA to redo our side deck. Joe and crew got work right away and stayed on time and on budget. As a contractor myself I'm very picky on who does work for my home and Joe and his team treated my home and project with care and respect. Since they finished the deck we've practically lived on it highly recommend!!
We hired JPA to install a backsplash in my kitchen. Joe and his team did an amazing job and we love it! Joe was very quick to respond when he came for an estimate. He kept me updated frequently throughout the process. He and his team are very personable and professional all the way. Bill was very accommodating as I have 3 dogs to feed etc and he never made me feel like I was in their way.Juliano was helping the last day of installation and he was great too. A fellow dog lover! We definitely will hire JPA again for any projects we will have in the future! Thanks again Joe, Bill, and Juliano. Happy customers!
My partner and I hired JPA Contracting to add a dormer to one side of our house, gut and remodel two bedrooms and a full bathroom, and add a second half bathroom. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and had an excellent experience working with Joe, his crew, and his subcontractors. He navigated the permitting process proactively and connected us with a local architect for the required plans who was also great to work with. Our house is over 140 years old and Joe communicated quickly and clearly about any issues or surprises that came up as the walls and roof came down. Issues are always going to come up in this extensive of a renovation on an old house, and he never hid the ball on what it would take to fix a problem. He was always available to us when we had questions and consistently reached out for our input even on smaller choices like where to hang fixtures. He was extremely flexible when we wanted to add something within reason to the project. Joe and his team truly care about quality craftsmanship and it shows, and Joe as a business owner sets himself apart from others with his consistent availability and communication. JPA finished our project on time (a little early, actually!) even through a tough winter with extra components added to the project along the way. We are already making a list of future projects for Joe (and some of his subcontractors!). Thank you JPA for your excellent work and for taking such good care of our home!
I cannot recommend Joe and his team highly enough! They did a complete gut remodel of our basement turning it from a dark and dingy room to an open and airy space that has really increased the living square footage of our home. Joe was a pleasure to work with: communicative, professional and patient! He completed the work on time, on budget, and to an excellent quality! I would use them again without hesitation!
Joe and his team redid our exterior deck and a small bathroom closet. They were fast, professional, and did a great job!
