Karen Berkemeyer Home designs kitchens and baths out of a Westport, CT showroom, and the company says it serves Fairfield and Westchester County. It carries 4.9 stars from 27 Google ratings and 5.0 from 26 on Houzz. A recent customer who did both a new build and a renovation with the firm wrote that it handled cabinetry, tile, fixtures and design under one roof, from initial design through final installation. A recent customer said Karen coordinated with their GC to keep the project on track. On a project that was not local, a recent customer said Manager Cindy McCreight handled the execution and stayed with them throughout. A 2025 customer wrote that their kitchen and baths in a 100 year old pre-war co-op were expanded while adhering to co-op regulations. A 2022 customer said Iris came up with a design for a small bathroom, pulled the fixtures and tiles together and had everything delivered promptly. In 2017, a customer wrote on Houzz that the firm worked with their contractor on a gutted 50 year old bathroom to fit a walk-in shower, a vanity and storage. A 2025 customer left two stars. That customer said a bathroom project had hiccups and needed material repairs before the cabinets were functional, and called a kitchen project an "absolute nightmare across the board with their cabinets." The same 2025 customer wrote that "Emails and calls will go ignored" and that the plumbing fixtures carried a large markup the firm would not stand behind, while calling the installer great. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0698590, as active, held by Karen Berkemeyer Home.
“incorporating interior design touches for their respective companies of Karen Berkemeyer Home in Westport, CT, and Dunn Designs in Norwalk, CT. This kitchen, along with the master bath and a guest bath, was no exception”
Karen Berkemeyer Home is exceptional in every way. From the moment you walk into Karen's Westport showroom, you will be delighted by the staff and countless selections of beautiful tile, cabinetry, fixtures and hardware. It's one-stop to reimagine your dream kitchen, bath, bar, or laundry room. I have now completed both a new build with Karen and a renovation, and both projects were a delight from start to finish. We were so pleased to have the guidance of the experienced designers at KBH to help us realize our dream spaces! Doing a home project can be overwhelming, but not when you're in the right hands. They take every aspect of a project into consideration, from site visits and budget, to personal taste and function, to on time delivery. KBH wants you to love your space because you will be living it! The attention to detail and creativity also made using KBH the right choice for us. We wanted bespoke designs, and that is exactly what we were given. KBH goes out of their way to make the space unique, listening to your ideas and offering great suggestions to enhance the outcome of the project. What really makes Karen and her team stand out is how seamless they make the entire process, from initial design through final installation. She has an incredible eye, and her team brings that same care and attention to every detail — they’re responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in bringing the vision to life. Together, they have a gift for taking ideas and turning them into a real, livable, beautiful space. If you’re looking for a team who can handle cabinetry, tile, fixtures, and design all under one roof — and do it beautifully — Karen Berkemeyer Home is who you want. We can’t recommend Karen and her team enough.
Karen was wonderful to work with. She zeroed in on our style right away and made design suggestions that were thoughtful. And she always provided alternative choices that helped us think…many of which we chose! Karen is extremely attentive and responsive and coordinated with our GC to be sure our project stayed on track. Her whole team made the process seamless. Can’t recommend Karen Berkemeyer Home enough.
I had a wonderful experience working with Karen. She was always available to answer any questions I had concerning my kitchen renovation. Needless to say, I love my new kitchen thanks to Karen’s calmness and expertize.
We worked with KB on 2 different projects over the past 5 years being connected with the team by our interior designer. The most recent project was not local and I was a bit nervous how it would go being remote. I was amazed by how accommodating everyone was every step of the way. The design phase was enjoyable, but most importantly the execution part was perfectly handled by Manager, Cindy McCreight. She was outstanding to work with, always responsive and willing to assist with any unforeseen problem, regardless if contacted by our builder, designer or myself. She is the definition of customer oriented and stayed with us throughout the entire project. Overall both of our KB Home experiences have been extremely positive.
We had the pleasure of working with Deborah von Donop in selecting tile and a vanity for bathroom renovations for our new home. Deb was right on point with her recommendations after closely listening to what we were interested in. With her help, the process was streamlined and efficient. We never felt pressured , rushed or misdirected and are confident that our selections are perfect for "the look" we were going for. The project is in progress and we are excited to see it come together. Deb's help was invaluable and we can recommend her with confidence.
