I do not recommend Key Team Painting or Kenda Painting Contractors. I hired Key Team Painting to repaint my kitchen cabinets. I initially met with Jessica for the estimate, and a few days before the project began, I met Gary, who would be performing the work. Unfortunately, problems started almost immediately. Red Flag #1: Gary told me I had never paid the required deposit. I showed him the Venmo payment confirming that I had, and he apologized for the miscommunication. Red Flag #2: Two days into the project, Gary called me and said they had not charged enough for the job. About an hour later, Jessica left me a voicemail requesting an additional $1,000. I was surprised to be asked for more money after the project had already begun. Red Flag #3: On the final day, both Gary and Jessica contacted me separately regarding the final walkthrough and payment. When I arrived home, I expected to find the cabinets reassembled and the work area cleaned up. Instead, I found Gary, Jessica, and the local police in my driveway. Apparently, Gary and Jessica had gotten into a heated argument that escalated to the point where the police were called. After speaking with the officers, I simply wanted everyone to leave my property. While both Gary and Jessica apologized, the entire situation was incredibly unprofessional. Red Flag #4: Once everything settled down and I had an opportunity to inspect the cabinets, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. I expected a smooth, factory-like finish, but many of the cabinets were rough to the touch with visible blemishes, paint runs, and other obvious imperfections. The overall finish fell below my expectations. The cleanup was equally disappointing. I spent several days removing overspray from my appliances and hardwood floors, peeling off leftover painter's tape, and scrubbing paint residue from my floors. In addition to the poor finish, there was damage to my property, including: • White paint left on the underside of my granite countertops due to inadequate masking. • A floor rug ruined by overspray. • Paint stains on my less-than-one-year-old back deck, which may require replacing several deck boards. • New screw holes drilled into several cabinet drawers instead of using the existing holes. • Several cabinet hardware screws missing after reassembly. Before I arrived home on the final day, I asked Gary who should receive the final payment. He instructed me to pay him directly and provided his Venmo account, which I did. After discovering the damage to my deck, I requested the company's insurance information because I anticipated needing to file a claim. Jessica then informed me that because I had paid Gary instead of Key Team Painting directly, she considered the contract void and would not honor any warranty work. This came as a complete surprise because I had been led to believe that Gary and Jessica were partners, and Jessica had promoted Key Team Painting as a family business. I immediately texted/called Gary, looking for him to return the payment so I could pay Jessica (Key Team Painting) directly, but he has not responded. While trying to understand the situation, I found Facebook posts from Kenda Painting Company promoting its subcontracting relationship with Key Team Painting, including a photo of Gary painting my cabinets. That left me even more confused about who Gary actually works for and who is ultimately responsible for this project. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. Between the poor workmanship, property damage, inadequate cleanup, the request for additional payment after work had already begun, the confusion surrounding payment, and the refusal to stand behind the work, I cannot recommend either Key Team Painting or Kenda Painting Company. From start to finish, the project was handled in an unprofessional manner, and I would strongly encourage others to consider these issues before hiring either company.

I recently had the interior of my home painted by the Key Team and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. From our initial meeting through the final walkthrough, the team was highly professional, organized and consistent communicators. They kept the workspace spotless, cleaning up at the end of each day so my husband and I could comfortably enjoy our home throughout the project. Their attention to detail was outstanding - ensuring the walls, trim and doors were flawlessly finished and free of the dents and wear that naturally accumulate over time. The result is beautiful, and the entire process was genuinely enjoyable. I highly recommend the Key Team and already plan to have them back for another project.

From the very beginning, Gary was professional, responsive, and incredibly detail-oriented. The quality of his work is outstanding.
