Three separate 2026 reviews put Jose Lopez's crew in the same room: the kitchen, repainting the cabinets. VIP Painters works the Merrimack Valley — Angi lists an address at 30 Saunders Street in Lawrence, Thumbtack shows the business serving North Andover since 2007 — and both profiles put Lopez at 19 years in the trade. The bigger jobs read the same way. A March 2026 Google reviewer described six rooms, four of them with ceilings, plus all the kitchen cabinets, and wrote that Jose arrived promptly once they connected. In an April 2026 Thumbtack review, a homeowner whose cabinets were repainted said they looked brand new and had already booked a second job at the house; an April 2026 Google reviewer said they had used VIP multiple times over the previous six years. What the older reviews single out is the repair underneath the paint. A 2023 Angi customer had popcorn ceiling taken down and the walls, doors and trim painted, on time and on budget, with help moving furniture. A 2021 Angi reviewer who hired Jose that March for a whole-house repaint wrote that the popcorn ceiling and the cracks were repaired perfectly. Further back, a 2019 Thumbtack customer described broken drywall patched and the paint matched so you cannot see where the holes were in the repainted bathroom, and another that spring had a lot of taping and plastering done before the painting started and said the crew cleaned up before leaving. Thumbtack shows a 4.8 from 57 ratings with 47 projects, and lists Top Pro status for 2020 and 2021 and a completed background check on Jose Lopez; Angi shows 4.9 from 28 ratings and notes Spanish-language service. One March 2026 customer hired the crew specifically to take over work a previous contractor had left behind. VIP is a straightforward call for interior work that starts with repair — cabinets, cracked plaster, a popcorn ceiling that has to come down first — in Lawrence, North Andover and the towns around them. Before booking, get the estimate in writing with the prep and the number of coats spelled out, and settle who handles the patching if the walls need work first.
