Kitchen Magic is a large, family-run cabinet-refacing company — founded in 1979 in a basement office in Allentown, PA, now run by second-generation president Brett Bacho — that serves Massachusetts out of a Marlborough office as part of a five-state Northeast operation. Its core pitch is cabinet refacing: wrapping existing cabinet boxes in new laminate and doors rather than a full gut renovation. The reviews on file are split, and the split matters. A 2025 review describes Tom Quartararo and Derek Sudol delivering a kitchen cabinet renovation with what the customer called high-quality laminate, custom doors and responsive service from consultation through cleanup. But three other reviews, spanning 2023 to early 2026, describe the same failure mode: the laminate finish bubbling and peeling, sometimes within a couple of years of installation. One customer, whose kitchen was done in March 2022, says they've already had six cabinet doors replaced for bubbling laminate. Another, from a December 2021 job, says the warranty covers materials only — labor to fix a defective door runs $300 an hour. A third, describing a 2014 consultation, says the "finest products, lifetime warranty" pitch didn't hold up once the cabinets needed resurfacing, and felt scammed by the $300 repair charge on a $22,000 job. Separately, a 2014 complaint on a consumer-review site describes a sales dispute the customer said they were taking to the state. On the other side, Kitchen Magic earned Angie's List's Super Service Award in 2018, and trade coverage has profiled its manufacturing scale — nearly 300 employees and a Nazareth, PA headquarters built in 2010. The pattern worth taking seriously before signing anything: ask exactly what the labor warranty covers if the laminate on a refaced door ever bubbles or peels, and get that in writing — it's the specific complaint that recurs across several years of reviews, not a one-off.
“Brett Bacho, President of Kitchen Magic, talks about how the company remains at the cutting edge.”
“With nearly 300 employees, Kitchen Magic opened its state-of-the-art manufacturing and headquarters facility in 2010. Based in Nazareth, PA, the family-owned firm serves five Northeast states (CT, MA, NJ, NY, PA, and RI).”
“Kitchen Magic, a Lehigh Valley based kitchen and bath remodeling firm, has partnered with Chameleon Power, an innovator in photorealistic 2D and 3D digital design tools.”
“Kitchen Magic. Inc. has earned 2018 Angie’s List Super Service Award.”
“When I confronted Kitchen Magic with the ruse its salesman tried to pull on us, Kitchen Magic told me it was MY misunderstanding. Now, I'm filing a state complaint.”
We had our kitchen re-done by Kitchen Magic in March 2022. They used the existing cabinet "boxes" and wrapped them in laminate and the new doors. I have already had 6 cabinet doors replaced because the laminate was bubbling. I have other areas on the cabinet that have chipped. Only certain color cabinets are warranted. But that's for the cabinet door only. I have to hire my own contractor to install the new door. Kitchen Magic no longer has any contactors in my area. For the money I paid, I expected a better product. If I had to do it again, I would have never chosen this type of cabinet. The only good thing is at least the cabinet doors are under warranty.
Tom Quartararo and Derek Sudol did an excellent job with my kitchen cabinet renovation project with Kitchen Magic. They are very knowledgeable and provided me with excellent customer service. Kitchen Magic used high-quality laminate, custom cabinet doors and craftsmanship to upgrade the style of my kitchen. Tom was very responsive and went above and beyond during the process of the fabrication, installation and clean-up. Kitchen Magic completely transformed and modernized my kitchen! After such a positive experience, I highly recommend this company for all your kitchen renovation needs.
Please be aware and read your contract very carefully. The kitchen was done in December 2021 and we already have issues-the laminate is bubbling and peeling off. They charge $300 an hour for labor that’s not covered by the warranty- only material is. This leaves you with the only option to re-install yourself, unless you are willing to pay up.
So back in 2014 I get a consultation for a new kitchen and the sales pitch is " we use only the finest products and there's a lifetime warranty..Well that's not the case, I felt I was scammed, not only do the cabinets need resurfacing and the peeling you have to deal with, now They tell me I have to pay 300.00 for the updating of the defected cabinets, after we payed them over 22,000 for our new kitchen. That doesn't sound like a lifetime warranty to me!
