Kitchens & Baths of Norwood is a cabinetry and design shop that's been doing the same job for a long time — owner Tom DaCosta has run it out of Norwood for about 27 years, supplying custom and semi-custom kitchen and bath cabinetry, granite and quartz countertops, and tile. The clearest signal of what they do well comes from a run of 17 Houzz reviews averaging 4.9 stars, written between March 2016 and July 2017. The same two names keep showing up — DaCosta and designer Erin Wilkins — and the same theme repeats: in a 2017 review, one homeowner credits the company with designing and supplying the cabinets, counters, and tile for a full kitchen gut renovation (the architect and builder handled the structural work), calling the craftsmanship superb. In 2016 reviews, others describe Wilkins guiding bathroom vanity and backsplash selections and being easy to reach throughout. Worth knowing before calling: the written record on file is a decade old — nothing newer than mid-2017 — and the reviews consistently describe the company as the cabinetry and design supplier on a project, not the general contractor coordinating the whole job; a kitchen or bath gut renovation would still need its own architect or builder alongside them. The company also carries Wood-Mode's Gold Star and Platinum brand recognitions, and its BBB profile shows no complaints on file, though BBB does not accredit or rate the business. For a homeowner planning the cabinetry, countertops, or overall design of a kitchen or bath — rather than the structural work itself — the strong, consistent praise from past clients and the manufacturer backing are real points in their favor.
This company did a great job for us on a major kitchen renovation. Our architect made the plans and our builder removed a wall and stripped the space down to studs on walls, ceilings, and floors, rebuilding an open expanded kitchen in our antique farmhouse. Kitchens and Baths of Norwood designed and supplied the cabinets and also supplied all the counters and tile. Erin was completely professional and extraordinarily helpful. She understood the look I was after and she provided wonderful help and guidance in making decisions and choices. Her experience allowed her to advise us about what should go where. Her attention to detail was superb. She even went above and beyond by having some custom metal trim made for our island to resemble something I saw in a picture. I am completely satisfied with the quality of the cabinetry and installation. The kitchen was finished last summer and now after living with it I can honestly say there is nothing I wish I had done differently.
I love working with Erin and Tom. Very professional and courteous we have worked on many projects together and it is always a pleasure to deal with them. I recommend them to many of my own customers.
Tom and Erin are both a pleasure to work with! Tom has great ideas and really assisted us in planning the design of our master bath. His thoughts about design and detail are what makes the difference between a functional design and a "functionally beautiful" design.
My entire kitchen was redone due to a flood. All cabinetry, installation, and quartz counter tops were provided through Kitchens and Baths of Norwood. We were extremely satisfied with how the kitchen came out. The installation of the cabinets was done with quality craftsmanship, and completed in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend Kitchens and Baths of Norwood for a kitchen renovation.
My husband and I could not have been more pleased with our recent kitchen remodeling. Tom DaCosta, owner of Kitchens & Baths of Norwood designed the kitchen, hired excellent craftsmen and furnished beautiful custom-made cabinets. The layout design is innovative and resulted in an exceptional kitchen. He listened carefully to our needs and desires and was open to suggestions. His office staff was equally efficient and easy to approach. We would give this firm our 5-star recommendation without reservation.
