The permits sketch a neighbourhood remodeler: a full gut bathroom on Overlook Road in 2022, down to insulation, blueboard plaster, tiled tub walls and floor, a new exhaust fan and recessed lights; a return to that same house later the same year to convert a first-floor tub to a shower; a $35,000 bathroom renovation on Humphrey Street in 2021, with the plumbing permit filed the next day; and a $50,000 kitchen remodel on Wyman Road that same year. He takes on bigger structural work as well. A $157,051 permit on Puritan Road in 2021 covered finishing a basement into a bedroom, bathroom and bonus room while stripping and re-siding the house in cedar shakes. In 2020 he reframed a garage's flat roof into a gable for $36,177, and in 2021 added a shed dormer and restored a deck on Sheldon Road. A 2015 permit in Manchester covers a partial strip-and-reroof, and a 2024 residential permit in Westford has no description attached. The catch is that nobody has written anything about any of it — his BuildZoom page carries zero customer reviews. The score of 92 sitting on that page is built from licence and permit records, not from anyone's experience of hiring him. Read the licence block there sceptically too: it claims a home improvement registration "and 5 other licenses", one of them an electrical contractor registration, which is not a credential a remodelling contractor would normally hold. The state record is the one that counts, and it checks out. A sensible call if you want a bathroom or a kitchen done in Marblehead by someone whose work is visibly concentrated in that town's houses. Because nothing is written down, ask for the Overlook Road and Puritan Road addresses and speak to those owners before you commit.
