A Ortega Construction

A Ortega Construction, run by Ambiorix Ortega out of Marblehead, has built a loyal North Shore following — one reviewer says he's been their go-to contractor for over 12 years across multiple properties, and several others describe hiring him repeatedly over years for whatever comes up next. Bathroom work is where the specifics run deepest. A 2026 review describes tearing out a spa tub and installing a walk-in shower, finished start to finish in two weeks. Another review describes a half-bath transformed into a powder room with wainscoting and tiled floors, done efficiently and cost-effectively, with before-and-after photos to back it up. Other reviews describe two- and three-bathroom renovation jobs completed on time. Beyond bathrooms, the reviews describe him as something close to a one-man general contractor: a modern 150-square-foot second-story deck, a kitchen update, a master closet system, fence work, roof repairs, and a kitchen backsplash all turn up across different reviews. One reviewer had three aging decks upgraded to PVC decking and called the turnaround fast and efficient. The pattern across nearly all 19 reviews on file is the same: on time, on budget, responsive, and — repeated often enough to be notable — genuinely trusted with return business over years, not just a one-off good experience. There's nothing negative on the record to weigh against that. With many of the reviews clustering around a handful of dates in early 2024, it's worth confirming current availability and getting a written scope for a larger job.
