The job that comes up again and again is the one most people solve by buying new cabinets. A September 2024 couple wrote that they wanted white kitchen cabinets that would not look painted — more like a factory finish — and that visitors afterwards assumed the cabinets were new. In an April 2026 review another customer had boxes with old peeling veneer and dark brown trim taken to white. Legacy Home Finishes works out of Peabody, and the person on every job is Nico; customers spell it Nico, Nick and Niko, and they call the business Legacy Painting about as often as its registered name. Cabinets are the centre of it, but the work runs wider. Reviews describe a vanity in a high-gloss decorative finish (April 2026), never-before-painted espresso cabinets and two bathroom vanities done to a tight timeline (September 2023), whole interiors before a move-in — doors, trim, walls, ceilings, vanities (September 2024) — a porch, a full house exterior finished in about a week (March 2022), and a later return for exterior trim, porch and replacement shutters. Two behaviours keep surfacing, and both are the kind you cannot advertise. In a September 2024 review a customer whose cabinets had been done years earlier noticed a few streaks and decided to let it go; Nico called the next day and was back the following week. In September 2021 a homeowner described a repair that turned out more involved and more costly than expected, and wrote that he went ahead with it without hesitating. Pricing lands the same way. A September 2024 customer said the quote came in significantly below the three others they collected. A May 2023 reviewer called the price reasonable for painting nearly the entire inside of the house, and said the same again when the crew came back to do the outside. Two things about the written history are worth knowing. All of it is on Google — 22 reviews from 2021 through 2026, every one of them five stars, two of them in the past six months. And this is a small outfit: reviews name the owner plus a helper or two (one names Juan), so how soon you get on the calendar depends on where you land in his queue. For cabinet refinishing or a careful interior repaint on the North Shore, this is a strong fit. Get the scope and the finish spec in writing, ask what happens if the finish needs a touch-up a few years on — a couple of customers describe exactly that conversation — and ask about lead times, since the same person appears to quote the work and do it.
