In a November 2025 Google review, a customer described Lewis Creek Builders as the general contractor for their home: a shell pre-manufactured in panels by another company and assembled on raw land that needed utilities, over roughly 13 months. The Essex Junction, Vermont company describes itself as a team of architectural designers, craftspeople and construction managers handling building and remodeling projects. Its Vermont home improvement registration, 174.0000363, is active, and it holds an A+ from the Better Business Bureau, 5 stars from 13 Google ratings and 4.6 stars from 27 Houzz ratings. In September 2026 a customer had the company prepare a newly purchased house for move-in: an attic turned into an office, carpet replaced with wood floors, garage stairs, a finished shed, interior paint and a basement ventilation system, with thanks to Chris, Mel and their team. That same month Justin and his crew replaced a deck in a full Saturday. A January 2026 customer had their back steps completely rebuilt at a cost they called very reasonable. In a 2024 Houzz review, a customer described a 16-foot bump-out of the front of their ranch house to expand the kitchen. In June 2024 another customer wrote that the company turned their screened-in porch into a bedroom/office and met with them each week to give updates. In 2014 one customer had a detached two-bay garage built, and another described a major renovation in Burlington's South End. In January 2024 a 1-star Houzz reviewer wrote that after paying a $1,000 deposit and supplying finished plans, they were billed another $5,000 for design services to redraw them, and that Chris made several threatening phone calls about payment. In a May 2023 Houzz review, a customer wrote that the company's head carpenter glued a new vanity's granite top on crooked. A 2★ August 2018 reviewer said two large projects started in January still had an unfinished punch list in August. A 2022 Reddit commenter wrote "Stay away from Lewis Creek"; a 2024 commenter called it "pricey but killer."

Lewis Creek Builders did an amazing job helping us prepare a newly purchased house for the move-in. They turned the attic into an office, replaced the carpet with wood floors, built stairs in the garage, finished a shed, painted the interior, and installed a ventilation system in the basement. Everyone we met at Lewis Creek was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Their team made the remodeling process easy with clear, prompt communication, honest pricing, and high-quality craftsmanship. We are very thankful to Chris, Mel, and their team for all their help and certainly would highly recommend Lewis Creek for your building/remodeling needs.
Justin and his crew did a great job replacing our outside deck. Were on time with all the materials needed and it took them a full Saturday to remove the old one and replace it. The crew was very efficient and friendly. Thanks 👍

I had an excellent experience with Lewis Creek. They were timely, professional, and the completed work exceeded my expectations. (They completely rebuilt my back steps and fixed the raining on my front steps). The cost was very reasonable. I would definitely use them again and am happy to recommend them to anyone else thinking about such services.
Lewis Creek was the General Contractor for our home, with a shell that was pre-manufactured in panels (by another company) and assembled on-site, which itself was raw land in need of various utilities. So, a big and unusual project! Over the course of ~13 months, Lewis Creek was consistently professional, detailed, highly communicative, and always happy to educate us about the components of the work. They were helpful while we worked through tough budgeting considerations; they were flexible and action-oriented in the face of inevitable construction surprises; and they were gracious in resolving a minor HVAC issue that appeared after our move-in. Their subcontractors all did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with. We've been living in our new home for 1 year now, and everything's still working well -- we look forward to many more years of high-quality work proving its worth!
