Thirty-two reviews across HomeAdvisor, Houzz and Porch, running from 2021 to 2025, and not one of them is under five stars. What keeps that from reading as manufactured is how specific they get, and how often they name the same man: Max Shipitco, who the company's own site calls its founder and owner, and who turns up review after review doing the estimate himself and then working the job with a small crew. Luxe Flooring does one thing. Wood floors — laying them, sanding them, staining them, bringing old ones back — plus laminate and luxury vinyl plank when hardwood is the wrong answer. The company's site puts it in Norwell on the South Shore and claims over ten years in the trade; its directory profiles still carry Quincy addresses. Its BBB page records the business starting in March 2017 and incorporating in January 2023, one employee on file, graded A+. The reviews get interesting because a striking number are about what is under the floor rather than the floor. In a 2023 review, a homeowner wanted a buried oak floor brought back; Max found asbestos in the tile and adhesive covering it and walked them through a floating-vinyl alternative instead of disturbing it, and a 2024 reviewer describes the same call on their kitchen. Another 2023 customer pulled up carpet that had been down more than forty years and got back a floor that 'looked brand new.' A 2022 reviewer whose floors were ruined by a slow, invisible leak had them restored. Across five years the same habit repeats: diagnose first, sand second — long walkthroughs of water-based versus oil-based finishes, and no push to buy more than the job needs. The most useful voice is a 2022 customer who still gave five stars. On a hundred-year-old floor he had asked them to sand as lightly as possible, he could pick out slight waviness in the flatness at the right angle of light. Worth asking how they handle a very old floor that has moved. The other thing to pin down is whether they come to your town. Houzz lists a 48-town area covering Greater Boston and the South Shore and specifically not Marblehead; Porch claims 165 eastern Massachusetts towns including the whole North Shore. Both cannot be right. Directories also disagree on where the company sits and whether it is an LLC or a corporation, which the BBB dates cleanly enough: it started in 2017 and incorporated in 2023. Massachusetts exempts floor-covering-only contractors from home improvement registration, so there is no state licence to check here. Call them for hardwood — installation, refinishing, and the awkward jobs where the real problem is underneath — and confirm your town and the current business address before you book.
Every single aspect of the project was excellent from communication to skill to cleanliness. Look no further! The result exceeded my expectations.
Great communication! They did a really nice job laying new wood floor and perfectly refinishing existing wood floor in an adjoining room to match. They also covered asbestos tiles with floating vinyl floor. Very professional and highly trustworthy! We will hire them again when we get to our basement!
Max was very observant of details related to the floors. He was thorough in explaining the different options such as water based or polyurethane finish. He had a great sense of overall aesthetics and his advice was very helpful. Max replaced flooring in several areas and the floors look beautiful!!!
Max and his guys are fabulous. They are courteous, trustworthy and professional. I hired Max to refinish my kitchen floor, and the result is beautiful- looks brand new. Beyond great craftmanship, Max provides exceptional customer service. From the initial call, to coming to my home to provide a quote, to updating me on arrival time for the work completion- his communication is top notch. Max goes above and beyond to have a satisfied customer, and this is all at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.
Very professional organization. Quoted estimate was fair, work done on time, excellent quality control, and great communication about each step of the renovation process. Would highly recommend.
