M.A. Restoration has racked up an extraordinary volume of praise for a Westborough, Massachusetts company: 485 Google ratings averaging five stars. The company says it's family-owned, run by Mark Johnson as president with his wife Amy Johnson overseeing administration and other family members in leadership, and that it grew out of a custom cabinetry and general remodeling business Johnson started in 1994 before expanding into water damage restoration around 2000. A 2025 local news profile independently described it as having provided "nearly 30 years of service to the community," and today it handles water, fire and mold damage restoration alongside kitchen, bath and basement remodeling, with 24/7 emergency response across Central and MetroWest Massachusetts. The reviews describe the range of disaster work homeowners actually call them for: ice-dam damage and ceiling repairs, burst pipes, sewer backups, house fires, and severe basement flooding. Recent 2026 reviews describe a full deck rebuild and roof patch after storm damage, and a bathroom taken down to the studs and rebuilt after mold; named crew members — Steve, Brian, Bill, Larry, Tim, Israel and others — come up again and again for clear communication and staying within budget and timeline. A 2024 Houzz review described a young couple whose newly purchased home caught fire a month after closing and needed to be gutted and rebuilt; a 2025 Houzz review recounted an eight-month recovery from New Year's Eve pipe-freeze damage to a kitchen and basement. Across 444 reviews on file since 2013, and 79 in just the last six months, the volume and consistency of the praise is unusual for a contractor this size. One negative review from May 2026 described a frustrating experience getting scheduling confirmations, with crews arriving late in the day during equipment checks — worth asking about if timeliness during a job matters to you. The company's own site also states its history two different ways, "over 25 years" in one place and "over 30 years" in another. Its site names a Construction Supervisor's License and Home Improvement Contractor's License held by Mark Johnson (#067612), though we haven't verified those against the state registry. For anything from an ice dam to fire and flood recovery, and the rebuild that follows, this is a company reviewers trust with the worst kind of home emergency — just confirm current licensing and response times directly given the volume of work they're clearly handling.

A first class experience, 5 star. My wife and I could not have been more pleased. Quality work done on time actually early. Fantastic job. Highly recommend. From Brian working with insurance to Steve overseeing the work first class
Highly recommend M.A. Restoration. The team there is extremely professional, great level of communication, they followed through with everything they said, and the job they did came out great.
I had the unfortunate experience of a sewer backup in the basement last week. I called the plumber to address the issue. He did, and recommended MA Restoration for cleanup and mitigation. I called them and the dispatch walked me through the process. From the beginning, everyone was professional and explained everything in detail. Their work is top notch. A week later and you wouldn’t know there was an issue in the basement. I highly recommend them.
Both the mitigation and the restoration went perfectly. Steve worked very hard to match floors, get the paint right and went the extra mile. I was always kept up to date. Do I want an ice damn again, NO. But if it were to happen, I want these guys to make it right!!!!
The work was completed quick & easy! Very satisfied with the outcome and how they dealt with my insurance.
