MaineShore Mechanical is a heating company that says it has been in business for 33 years, and its website names Portland and Scarborough as its service area. It holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau and is BBB accredited. A 2024 customer said their boiler failed the day before Christmas Eve a couple of years earlier, leaving them with no heat or hot water. That 2024 customer said Paul and his crew rang the doorbell at 8 AM on Christmas Eve holding a boiler, and worked through their day off to install it. The same 2024 reviewer wrote that Ismael more recently helped on short notice to hook up a gas dryer, and said he could do their annual boiler check. A 2023 customer said their oil tank, filled by another company, cracked and leaked into the garage. That 2023 customer said Paul had a tech out before noon the day they called, then replaced the tank and managed to save their oil, and called the quote very reasonable. A 2023 customer wrote that the company fixed their furnace, then did some pipe work. A 2024 customer thanked Paul and the team for installing a new hot water heater. A 2024 customer had a natural gas furnace installed, converted from oil, at the agreed price and in the agreed time frame, but said the quality of the work was not what they expected: wires were run so ceiling panels and trim could not be rehung, and rags were left in the holes cut in the exterior walls. That 2024 customer said the company did not get the required permits, and that a Maine state inspector they brought in documented a dozen code violations, which Paul's crew fixed in a timely manner.
Thank you Paul & team for installing my new hot water heater! The crew was a pleasure to work with, did a great job
A couple of years ago it was Christmas Eve Eve ansnour boiler failed. We had no heat nor hot water, and repair people and boilers were seemingly impossible to find. After a couple of Covid holidays, it was hard to imagine not being able to have my family together again. Finally we found Paul; he said he couldn’t make any promises but would do what he could to find me a boiler and a crew willing to work on Christmas Eve. 8 AM on Christmas Eve morning the doorbell rang and it was Paul and his crew. Holding a boiler in their arms, they wished us Merry Christmas and continued to work thru their day off to install our new boiler. My favorite part was watching Ismael and the crew walk down the street after the install giving each other high-fives saying “We did it. I love this time of year.” It truly was a gift. Just recently, Ismael, helped me again on short notice to hook up a gas dryer and at the same time he said he could do our annual check in on our boiler. Always grateful for this team. They are tidy they are clean. They are professional and kind. Highly recommend Paul and his crew.
I had an okay experience with Maineshore. They installed a new natural gas furnace (converted from oil) at the agreed upon price and in agreed upon time frame. However, the quality of the work is not what I expected and I probably wouldn't have hired them if I'd known what it would be - things like running wires so I couldn't rehang ceiling panels and trim, and leaving rags in the holes they cut in my exterior walls. More importantly, they did not get the required permits and thus avoided a town inspection. I had the Maine state inspector come out and he documented a dozen code violations. Paul's crew did fix the violations in a timely manner but I would have been left with an unacceptable system if I hadn't sought outside help.
We had our oil tank filled (not by Maine Shore Mechanical) and realized the next morning it had cracked during filling and was leaking into our garage. Paul had a tech out before noon the day I called to assess the damage and he came later that afternoon with a plan and a quote. Paul replaced our tank and even managed to save our tank of oil, which given the cost of a full tank, I was extremely thankful for. His quote was very reasonable and treated our issue as an emergency without gouging us on the price or sacrificing the quality of workmanship. Every member of his team was knowledgeable and and extremely courteous. We highly recommend Paul and Maine Shore Mechanical!
These guys are awesome. They fixed our furnace, then some pipe work. Very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended. Jeff D.
