MassHeat is a Quincy oil-heat outfit that people seem to call in a genuine emergency — a dead circuit board, an oil tank suddenly leaking — and what keeps coming up in reviews is that they actually pick up and show up. The company says it serves the Boston area from its Spruce Street base, running everything from boiler and furnace installs to oil tank removal, replacement, and annual burner tune-ups. The last few months tell a consistent story. In April, one customer's heating circuit board failed and MassHeat came out after hours the same night, without charging extra for the late call. A separate late-night oil tank leak got stopped and drained on the spot, with the full tank swap finished the next day and drop cloths laid down along the way. Other January and April reviews describe the same pattern — a quick response, the fix explained plainly, and heat working again within days. That track record is modest in volume but consistent across it: Google shows a 5-star average from 16 ratings, and the company turns up in Roth's own installer directory for double-walled oil tanks, useful to know for anyone specifically needing a tank swap. The one wrinkle is an older Porch listing from 2018 putting them at 4.67 out of 5 across 22 reviews — still strong, just not perfectly aligned with the current Google number, and old enough that it may not reflect the crew today. For a homeowner, MassHeat reads as the call for a no-heat or leaking-tank emergency rather than a planned remodel. Worth confirming directly: current pricing for after-hours calls, since the reviews describing a husband-and-wife or named-tech setup suggest staffing can vary job to job on a small, family-run outfit.

I had a sudden late-night oil tank leak, and these guys hustled out, got it stopped and drained, and replaced the tank the next day. They took care during the entire process, including laying down cloths and letting me know what they'd be working on, and when. Would 100% recommend them.
