A proposal with photographs of the planned work was part of one Bourne homeowner's experience with Paul McAvoy. In an April 2024 Google review, the customer described four ceiling-fan replacements, rewiring three receptacles so they were no longer controlled by a switch, and new LED lighting. The customer said Paul completed the items on the list. A separate March 2024 reviewer described a walkthrough followed by a detailed quote with pictures. McAvoy Electric is based in Plymouth. The company describes Paul McAvoy as its owner and a master electrician, serving residential, commercial and industrial customers on the South Shore and Cape Cod. Google reported five stars from 84 ratings in August 2026. January 2025 customers described small household jobs as well as return visits. One said Paul repaired a bathroom exhaust fan, explained the issues while working, cleaned up and demonstrated the repaired fan. Another described repeated visits for faulty switches, ceiling fans and under-cabinet lighting, with explanations about the work and advice on parts to buy beforehand. A different January reviewer contacted Paul about an electric-baseboard thermostat on a Thursday; Paul scheduled an appointment for noon the next day and arrived on time. Larger electrical jobs feature in older accounts. A January 2024 customer described a complete breaker-box installation and said Paul corrected problems in the old box. A November 2023 hot-tub-wiring customer praised a detailed quote, answers to questions and meeting deadlines. Separate July and August 2023 customers described EV-charger installations. In December 2021, a repeat customer credited Paul with new outlets and lighting and removal of knob-and-tube wiring. An August 2023 customer needed power restored to an AC system. The reviewer said Paul traced the problem to a loose connection behind a circuit breaker and corrected it. Another customer writing that month described electrical wiring for a Mitsubishi heating and cooling unit: Paul came the next day to estimate the work, wired it within two days after that and stayed to check that it worked. Pricing and cleanup received specific praise too. In June 2024, a customer described new lights, smoke-detector replacements and dimmer-switch work, saying Paul finished within the estimated time and budget. A December 2024 customer said his estimate was accurate and the work was completed as described.
