Upon learning of our search for a reputable general contractor in the Boston area, a colleague of mine recommended McNish Building and Development Corp. Although we came to the table with loads of ideas we'd had virtually no experience with the actual renovation process. We anticipated needing lots of expert direction, so we were happy to consider working with someone who was introduced to us in esteemed terms by a trusted source. Having previously met with two other contractors, it was clear from our first meeting with Mr. McNish that he was the professional with whom we wanted to proceed. Hansley was open to all of our ideas and listened keenly and when we'd exhausted ourselves speaking he advised us with sound judgement and enthusiasm. We were immediately on board. A formal itemized cost estimate for the interior work as discussed followed quickly and was perfectly in keeping with Hansley's prior ballpark estimate. Work began very soon thereafter. Hansley and his crews worked tirelessly. Demolition of two second floor rooms and construction of a new full bath and laundry room proceeded in a timely, yet meticulous manner. Daily, he exhibited upbeat enthusiasm, kept us completely involved in the design process and continually reassured us with fabulous result. We could not be more delighted with our beautiful new second floor. Hansley McNish is a rare professional and we could not be more thankful to have found him. Not only does he possess a visionary gift, but he is artfully tuned in to trends in materials and aesthetics and is highly versed in green and energy-efficient options. In addition to all of this, Hansley has a flair for managing people. We've watched as he's deftly resolved dozens of matters on a given day, making good decisions quickly, logically and with calm. He virtually made himself available to us twenty-four hours a day to discuss options and answer questions. All-in-all, the man is an inspired contractor. He is honest and trustworthy and has a true calling. Two weeks ago, we contracted with McNish Building and Development for a complete exterior renovation of our home, currently in progress, and are mighty excited to see the end result.
