Mendez Contractor Inc

Mendez Contractor Inc is a Lynn-based roofing and remodeling outfit run by Walter Mendez, and the record on file is thin — just four written reviews spanning 2021 to 2023 — but the account isn't quiet. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, the Better Business Bureau rates it A+ (though it isn't BBB-accredited), and the company says on its own site it has been doing construction work in the Lynn area for more than 15 years, with roofing, siding, framing, additions and demolition among its stated services. The two most detailed accounts point in opposite directions. In a 2023 review, a customer described an "extensive" and "complicated" condo kitchen renovation that went well enough to bring Mendez back for a front-door install afterward — the kind of repeat business that says something. But a 2021 review told a different story: a neighbor of a roofing job said the crew strapped foam board to their parked car without permission or notice, then denied responsibility for any damage and called the car "already" damaged when confronted. What to know before calling: with only four reviews on file, neither the praise nor the complaint is backed by much company beyond itself — worth asking directly about how a jobsite is protected and how disputes get handled before signing on, especially for exterior work near neighboring property.
