Michael MacDougall Electrician works out of Mansfield, and the number that jumps out is 4.9 stars across 52 Google ratings, with a 5.0 average on HomeAdvisor's 62. The company describes itself as family-run and says it continues a multi-generation family tradition in the trade, run today by Michael MacDougall, a licensed Master Electrician — and the state confirms his electrician license is active. The reviews keep telling the same story: speed. One customer had a ceiling fan installed in under 45 minutes; several describe same-day estimates and quick scheduling worked around their own timelines. It isn't only small jobs, though — recent work includes swapping a 100-amp panel for 400 amps to serve an ADU and main house together, a 200-amp service upgrade paired with an EV charger install, and routine outlet, switch, and fixture work. A steady core of repeat customers keep coming back — one says six years, another eight, another eleven — for everything from ceiling fans to full panel upgrades. Nineteen reviews have landed in just the last six months, all five stars, so the pace hasn't slowed. The written record runs back to 2017, and even the older accounts read the same way: in a 2018 review, a homeowner mid-renovation on an old house credited Mike's flexibility and communication over a year of piecemeal work, and a 2017 review described roughly 15 separate electrical projects — new fixtures, recessed lighting, bathroom fans, outdoor lighting — handled without a hitch. Nothing in the record raises a flag: no lapsed license, no complaints, no negative reviews turned up anywhere in the history. The business's own site says it's been at this for 20 years and lists a Master Electrician license number that lines up with what the state has on file. For anything specific — a firm quote on a bigger job, whether older-home wiring is involved — a direct call is worth it, but on this record it's a shop homeowners keep hiring back for both the routine calls and the bigger panel work.
Mike is fantastic! Very communicative and great work. He’s also speedy! I had a ceiling fan installed and I think it took him 45 minutes tops. He’s a super nice guy and I look forward to hiring him for another job.
Mike did a fantastic job of upgrading my electric system going from 100 amp panel to 400 amps for an ADU/main house. Put in a brand new 200 amp panel in the main house with all new breakers. The job came out great, was done quick, and for a great price. Highly recommend for any electrical work!
Michael did an excellent job installing our bathroom fan recently. He took great care during the entire installation process. He did several other electrical work in our house before. If you need any electrical work, he is the person to go. He is courteous , professional and very reasonably priced.
We have a very old house so we seem to have Mike on speed dial. He gives us a fair quote, is always knowledgeable, friendly and does the project right, whether a small or large project. He's punctual, reliable and the best electrician around for sure! We have used him for at least ten years, twice a year. He's the best!
We’ve used Mike for various jobs and he has always been very quick to respond and provides quality work at a fair price. Would highly recommend for any electrical job!
