Michael's Home Inspections is a one-man home inspection business at 8 Welch Ave in Rutland, owned by Michael Gleason. The Better Business Bureau says it has been operating since 2008 and grades it A+, though the business is not BBB accredited, and the BBB page lists a Division of Professional Licensure number, 95, which is the bureau's record rather than a verification we made. The public written record is a single account, and it is a complaint. In February 2026 a customer wrote that a radon test was sent in unsealed, that there was no recourse when that happened, and that the $80 was not refunded. That one review is also the whole of the company's Google rating. If you are considering hiring him, ask directly how radon samples are sealed, handled and shipped, and what happens if a sample is voided at the lab — that is the specific failure a customer has publicly described. It is also worth asking for references, since almost nothing else about the work has been written down. This is a long-established local inspector with a clean BBB record but an unusually thin public history, so judge him on a conversation and references rather than on what is written online.
