Murray Masonry & More is a Peabody masonry company that, by its own account, Brendan Murray founded in 2007 to focus on historic brick and stone restoration, repair and new construction across the North Shore. The jobs customers describe are the hands-on kind: repointed fieldstone and granite foundations, rebuilt chimneys, new front steps, brick and paver patios, walkways and retaining walls. Recent Google reviewers talk about how the work is run as much as the result. In a May 2026 review, a homeowner who had a brick patio installed named project manager Brad as on top of the details and said crew members Bruno and Marlon were respectful of the property. Another May 2026 reviewer needed a new front walk after 32 years and described the crew coming to the house every day for three weeks, then hired them again. A January 2026 review described restoration work in 19th-century basements, where the crew made sure the owners agreed with the approach first and inspected the results with them afterward. In a March 2026 review, a homeowner was pleased that the chimney work reused the old terracotta bricks and passed a water test. Many customers have come back for more work. In an August 2025 review, a customer said the company first worked for them 18 years earlier and had just built a new patio; a May 2025 reviewer said it was their third time using them. The MA home improvement contractor licence #169898 is active on the state registry in the company's name. Google shows 4.8 stars from 34 ratings, HomeAdvisor 4.9 from 57 and Houzz 5.0 from 6. In an October 2020 HomeAdvisor review, a customer wrote that the owner refused to let the building inspector check the work before payment, that the work then failed inspection, and that they were in court trying to get it completed correctly. In a July 2024 Reddit post in r/SalemMA, one person advised avoiding Murray Masonry at all costs. In the same community, a September 2026 post called the company reliable and responsive. A July 2026 post said it did great work repointing a fieldstone foundation and rebuilding crumbling front steps a few years ago.
