Neat Painting & Remodeling is Jesse Vera's Boston painting and remodeling outfit, and its most distinctive work is not the part in the trade name: apartment turnovers and property-management contracts. Its Houzz profile names Boston Housing, Micozzi Management, Barkan Management, Marina Bay Realty Group, Park Apartments and Sawyer Realty Properties among its clients, beside a service list running from tub and tile reglazing to Venetian plaster and metallic finishes. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active and held in the company's own name. BuildZoom shows that registration was issued in October 2025, and that an earlier one is now inactive after being cancelled at some point — worth weighing against the website's claim of more than thirty years. What customers wrote is warm, and old. In an August 2019 review a homeowner described hiring Jesse and his team to scrape and repaint exterior trim that was in very bad shape, with peeling, cracked paint and a fair amount of rotted wood needing treatment. Another that month said Jesse walked the house with them explaining each section before painting it down to the shutters and doors. A 2017 customer, needing painters inside a week, said Jesse called within two hours of the referral and quoted over the phone. The fourth review is the one to read. In September 2016 a homeowner gave one star over an interior patch-and-paint job they described as unfinished, after being assured by Jesse Vera that the peeling walls could be scraped and blended. Nothing has been written about this company since August 2019, and the Houzz average of 4.0 rests entirely on those four accounts. For a fixed-scope interior job that argues for a written punch list and a daylight walkthrough before the final payment goes out.
My fiance and I hired Jesse and his team at Neat Painting and Remodeling to scrape and repaint the trim on the exterior of our home as it was in very bad shape. The paint was peeling, cracked and there was a fair amount of rotted wood that needed treatment. Not only did Jesse walk through the property with me and explain/quote me on all of the issues he saw; he also went above and beyond in making sure anything that could be addressed which went beyond the scope of what I hired him for was done for my convenience such as cleaning the gutters, removing any old beehives, etc. Jess and his team worked efficiently and were done in 6 days. I was very impressed with the improvements they made on my home and I am very thankful. Money well spent in my book. :)
Neat Painting and Remodeling is the best! From the first time I met Jesse, the owner, I knew that this was the right company for the job. He walked around the house with me explaining each section and what should be done in detail. They painted our house (including shutters, doors and foundation) using the best paint. They also did some carpentry work, cleaned our gutters and trimmed some vines from our chimney. We were so impressed by their work and their friendliness. We will definitely use them again and we highly recommend them to all our family and friends! They were less expensive and much more thorough than some of the other contractors we spoke with. Throughout the entire project, Jesse would keep us up to date on their progress. He was always available and very responsive. Jesse and his crew are the best! They do high quality work. We are so happy with the way our house looks! Thank you so much Jesse and all the workers from Neat Painting and Remodeling!
In a rush to find painters who could get a job done within a week, Jesse called me within 2 hours of submitting my pro referral and was able to provide an estimate over the phone. I was hesitate at first due to the limited reviews I could find about Neat Painting and Remodeling but Jesse made an effort to get back to me whenever I called. He was able to meet my sister while I was out of town on business, and together they called me to talk through the job. His recommendation were spot on and exactly what I needed. We decided to paint the wood trim/modeling around my windows and doors all over my new condo. Jesse was able to bring a crew in later that week and they worked through the weekend to ensure the job got done before my move in. Throughout the process, Jesse met me multiple times to check in on his crew and see how I was liking everything. They did an amazing job, my window frames, door frames and doors look brand new. Before they left, they cleaned everything up and I didn't have to worry about a thing! I would recommend Jesse to anyone look for a professional job!
We hired this company, NEAT painting and remodeling, after hearing of good work through home depot. We hired Jesse and his crew to do patch work after the previous paint has peeled off the wall..primer vs plaster issues..I was assured by Jesse Vera the walls could be scraped where they peeled and painted again blended with compound. We also had asked if he could stain and polyurethane the wood trims in the house as being new home owners the stain did not come out as good as we hoped. After 2 days the walls were made smooth again and most of the trim was done. We had not done a complete walk through in the light due to busy schedules but the job was decent. Jesse had told us he had one more half day to finish the stain and fix some of the blemishes and corners that were a bit messy. We had paid him in full via check on the second day originally thinking he was complete. He arrived on the third morning as planned. There were a few blemishes and messy corners we were hoping he could clean up on the last day..remind you these are brand new walls we were hoping they would be as smooth as possible despite the peeling issues. And we were assured the job would be good as new when Jesse was done. The walls had a few areas to fix but nothing extravagant and one window and one door and half of another needed stain nd polyurethane. Jesse flipped out saying we were not to tell him how to do his job and walked off the job cursing at my mother in law. The window was never stained just polyurethaned and the door was untouched along with another half polyurethane door downstairs. There were major blemishes and parts of the previous paint peeling that was untouched. Jesse was paid in full..has no answered calls or text..and left a job unfinished, but also acted in unprofessional manner yelling at a customer for wanting satisfaction with the work. All in all we paid 2300 for an sloppy unfinished job but were also verbal abused in the process for wanting a job that was given effort and cleanliness as assured when the assessment was complete prior to any work being done. Jesse had told us he had the time on his hands to make these walls good as new and take the anxiety of new home owner issues away. Not only did he make matters worse, now we are left scrambling to fix the mistakes we just handed thousands of dollars over to be used in fixing those issues.
