Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning

Ned Stevens is a multi-state exterior home services company, and in Massachusetts most people call it for one job: cleaning out the gutters. The company's own site lists gutter cleaning, installation and repair alongside pest control, lawn treatment, window and power washing, and dryer vent cleaning. It works out of Winchester, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The volume is large — 4.5 stars from 1,670 Google ratings and 4.3 from about 3,000 on each of Angi and HomeAdvisor. The recent visits mostly go the way customers hope. A September 2026 HomeAdvisor reviewer stepped out for an errand, came back to find the job done, and booked a return in November after the leaves fall. Another said there was no overflow when it rained afterwards. In an April 2026 Google review, a homeowner whose two gutters had come off in a storm got a call back within minutes and an appointment two days later; the crew repaired the fascia board and secured new gutters, and the customer called the pricing fair. A June 2026 reviewer said the crew fixed and reattached spouts on old gutters, and a May 2026 customer used the company to wash exterior windows at two locations. Scheduling and follow-through are where it slips. One September 2026 reviewer waited from June to August for a date; another said the crew forgot a needed extension and left a temporary one until they could return. The harder complaints are about billing for work the customer did not want or could not see. A March 2026 Google reviewer said a crew arrived citing a verbal agreement from 2023, was sent away with a promise of no charge, and the household was then told it owed $357; she said she reported the company to the FTC, the BBB and the Attorney General's office. A December 2024 reviewer described being charged in full after cancelling in person when the crew arrived, and a July 2024 reviewer said the gutters were left full of debris after a visit that took about 20 minutes. An April 2026 reviewer called the leaf guards Ned Stevens installed useless after two winters.
