The floor under a Bates College basketball game and the one under Bridgton Academy's court both came from a small shop in Lowell. New England Sports Floors designs, installs and maintains athletic flooring — maple hardwood, vinyl, rubber and synthetic gym, stage and dance floors — and has been an LLC since April 2011, fifteen years by BBB's count. Its BBB grade is A+, though it is not accredited there. The credentials it puts forward are the trade's own: it says it is a certified member and Accredited installer of the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association, and an authorized dealer for both Connor Sports Flooring and Aacer Flooring. Most of the work anyone has written about is institutional. Bates College's campus construction coverage named the company as the maple-floor subcontractor on the Alumni Gym rebuild in April 2018, and a month later quoted foreman Jonathan Clement on the pace of it: "It's a process. It's not like you can do this in a day or two." In June 2025 Bridgton Academy credited it with the full replacement of its gym floor. Municipal and school records around New England list it as an approved vendor and, at a Nashoba Tech career fair, as a local employer. Homeowners are the thinner half. Five Google ratings, averaging 4, with two written reviews on file. The fuller one, from April 2022, is a basement conversion: the installers "took the old flooring out and meticulously installed our rubber gym floors," and the customer service answered questions and quoted the job promptly. A January 2025 reviewer called them responsive and said the price was reasonable on very short notice. So the shape of this one is clear. If you want a rubber or hardwood athletic floor in a basement gym, a studio or a hall, this is a specialist that does exactly that for colleges and prep schools. If you want carpet, tile or a hardwood living room, look elsewhere — nothing here is about general home flooring. It is also a small outfit: BBB lists three employees, so ask what that means for your lead time, and pin down the floor system and finish before you sign.
“The renovations included a full replacement of the gym floor by New England Sports Floors, new scoreboards and shot clocks, bleachers from Hussey Seating, upgraded benches, and a range of other visual and structural improvements.”
““It’s a process,” said Jonathan Clement, foreman for New England Sports Floors. “It’s not like you can do this in a day or two.””
“In their place, a new maple floor emblazoned with more current branding will be installed by May 14.”
“The new floor will again be maple, and New England Sports Floors of Lowell, Mass., is the subcontractor.”

New England Sports Floors were super responsive and was able to tackle our needs at a reasonable price and on very short notice. Dwayne Robinson
New England Sports floors are amazing. They have made our finished basement to a high end gym. Customer service answered all my questions and gave a timely estimate for the job. Installers are knowledgable and skilled when they took the old flooring out and meticulously installed our rubber gym floors. We are now enjoying our own gym in the comfort of our homer. Thanks for the great experience.
