Dust is the thing people notice — or rather, the absence of it. Sanding and refinishing an occupied home is a messy trade, and the customers who hired Dragon Hardwood Floors keep circling back to how carefully the crew masks off a house before the sanders come out. The company is based at 19 N Franklin Ct in Lowell and describes itself as a family-owned shop started out of a passion for craftsmanship to serve the Lowell community. The work splits two ways: refinishing existing hardwood, and installing new floors — hardwood, engineered, luxury vinyl plank and laminate — plus staining, repairs and custom flooring design, by the company's own account. A homeowner who hired them this past June for a refinishing job described being walked through the options before committing and kept updated as the work went, with the finished floor matching what they had pictured. Another, in April, said the company came out for a quote immediately, resurfaced their floor, and stayed reachable afterward — enough that they planned to bring the crew back for the upper floors. The history behind that is real but not deep: 15 reviews dated 2024 through 2026 across five sources, 5★ on Google from 11 ratings and 5.0 on Angi from 5. None of them are negative. That consistency is worth something, but a couple dozen reviews is a thinner base than an established shop with hundreds, and it's the reason this read stops short of the top of the scale rather than anything anyone complained about. One thing to sort out before booking: the licensing picture. The company's own site lists Home Improvement registration 215153, and BuildZoom shows the same number for Dragon Hardwood Floor LLC (owner Phong Le) as active. Neither of those is a state registry check, and Massachusetts exempts floor-covering-only contractors from Home Improvement Contractor registration anyway — so if a job stretches beyond flooring, confirm the registration directly with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Angi's listing also notes free estimates but no warranties, which is worth pinning down in writing. Good fit for a Lowell-area homeowner who wants existing hardwood brought back or a single room re-floored, and who cares about the house staying livable while it happens. Ask for the per-square-foot rate, the number of polyurethane coats, and how many days the floor needs to cure between them.

Quynh and Dragon Hardwood flooring refinished my flooring and I can not speak more highly about the whole experience. Quynh was very communicative and made sure we had all the available information to make the decision based on how we wanted the final product to look. She kept us updated throughout the project and everyone was extremely professional and respectful of our home. The final product was exactly what we were hoping for and would recommend Dragon to anyone who asks. Great experience.

I contacted them for a quote and they came out immediately. The work they did was phenomenal and we're responsive and attentive even after they resurfaced our floor. I will definitely have them back do install on my upper floors.

This review is a bit late, but I wanted to write as my experience with Phong and his company was so positive. In early October, we made the decision to refinish our floors in our kitchen, family room and hallway. I had done research in several flooring companies and selected Dragon Hardwood Floors for this job. Our project was around 525 sq. ft. and pricing was $3.25 per sq. ft. The project was started and competed in early November. The results were outstanding. The lack of dust and the meticulous prep to cover multiple the wall mounted TV, stove, counters, etc. was extremely thorough. Phong and his crew sanded and prepped the floors and ultimately put on three coats of polyurethan. In order to let the floor cure between coats, the process took several days but the end result was well worth the time. After they finished and left, I struggled to find even a hint of sanding dust. You should not hesitate to hire Dragon Hardwood Floors if you want an exceptional quality job.
