A December 2025 customer needed help designing two bathrooms and said Aimee came back with different design options — something they had not been offered by other contractors. That is the shape of Newcomb Builders & Design: Eric builds, Aimee designs, and by the couple's own account they started with their own fixer-upper in Holden in 2018 before taking on other people's houses.
They work across Worcester and Middlesex Counties, and the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration in the company's name is active on the state registry.
The jobs run from small to structural. In an August 2026 review a homeowner described a two-story addition on a new foundation with new windows, siding and a roof, with subcontractors brought in for roofing, siding, gutters, paint, flooring and concrete. A February 2025 client had a bare basement turned into a playroom, living room and a laundry with a three-quarter bath. In March 2024 another basement went from completely bare to finished living space, and a June 2024 homeowner had an upstairs bedroom converted into a bathroom and closet for the adjoining bedroom, calling the work from demo to paint flawless.
Bathrooms keep turning up. Two customers in the spring of 2026 described remodels — one after finding problems left by the previous owners, one in an old house where the kitchen floor was replaced at the same time. Outside, a November 2025 customer had all the siding replaced along with new shutters, a front door and a back slider, and a December 2024 client in Holden had a new front porch framed and the roof replaced. An August 2026 homeowner had ice dam damage repaired, a job run through their insurance company, and described Eric as patient and responsive while it went on.
Two things to know before calling. They work from a waiting list — a May 2026 customer said they joined it gladly — so a remodel here is something to plan rather than book for next week. And on the big addition, a good deal of the work went to subcontractors, so on a job that size, ask which trades Eric's own crew carries. The company's site also lists a Construction Supervisor License, a Lead Safety Supervisor License and OSHA 30 certification.
If you want one outfit for both the drawings and the framing — a basement to plan out, a bathroom to rethink, an addition to coordinate — that is the work these customers describe. Get on the list early, and agree the trade-by-trade split before the first invoice.

Eric helped us repair our home after we had significant ice dam damage this winter. Because the repairs involved working through our insurance company, the process was more complicated than a typical home repair, but Eric was patient, professional, and responsive throughout the entire process.
He communicated efficiently, kept all the paperwork well organized, and made sure we were informed as the work progressed. Having construction going on while we were still living in the house with our three pets could definitely be stressful at times, but Eric made the process so much easier. He always communicated with us about the schedule, worked with us to accommodate our needs, and consistently showed up when he said he would. We really appreciated that reliability and consideration!
He was also very thoughtful whenever unexpected issues came up and took the time to explain things and work through them with us. We really appreciated how easy he was to work with and how much care he put into the project!
Most importantly, our house looks amazing now! After a very stressful situation, it finally feels like our home again, and even better than before! We hired Newcomb Builders for a major job that involved a two-story addition (with foundation), plus new windows, siding and roof. So, in addition to Eric Newcomb, the work involved subcontractors for roofing, siding, gutters, paint, flooring, concrete, etc. Although the job took a while, with many moving parts, all the work was of excellent quality and workmanship. Eric is excellent about checking in with our wishes and communicating his plans. He's honest, responsible and easy to work with. And Newcomb Builders brings some design expertise (re colors, lighting, tile, etc.) that fit our home nicely. I'd highly recommend and, in fact, planning a bathroom renovation for next year.
