No Risk Painting

Nearly three years after No Risk Painting finished a house, a few areas needed repatching. The customer called; Romelu came out, fixed the spots and left the area spotless — the warranty honoured without an argument, as that 2024 review tells it. Another customer whose paint began peeling a few years on wrote the same thing: one call, and they made it good. No Risk is a family-owned Boston-area painting company — interior and exterior painting, power washing and carpentry — working across Eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, and it says it has been doing so for over 20 years. Jamie Clark is the name in most reviews: he comes out, quotes the work and stays reachable while it runs. Its Better Business Bureau page is an A+ with accreditation, and the company states that it is Lead-Safe Certified. Preparation is what the good reviews dwell on. Power washing and sanding before a brush comes out; two coats where the house needs two. A 2023 customer had several rotted window surrounds repaired before the double coat went on. In 2025 a crew painted a very tall Victorian three-family and worked around its historical details; another job that year was an old barn where the terrain was the real challenge. Carpentry travels with the painting — a whole section of red cedar shingles replaced on a front elevation in 2025, new corner pieces, a shed door one owner had written off as unfixable. The complaints land on exactly that point. In August 2023 a reviewer wrote that the paint had not held up, that everyone seemed to be rushing, and that only spots were scraped rather than all the siding. A 2016 Angi reviewer said significant paint chips were not scraped or feathered. Scheduling is the other sore spot: in November 2022 a customer gave two stars after the crew missed the first appointment and then arrived unannounced in the backyard. Further back, a 2011 Angi account describes a subcontracted painter walking off after power washing the house, a week of silence, and a final paint quantity three times the quote. One more thing to check before signing: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration held by No Risk Painting LLC, HIC 153761, expired in February 2013 according to the state registry, which was checked in August 2026. For an exterior repaint with carpentry attached, anywhere from Newton and Needham out to Duxbury, this is a long-running crew with a warranty it has been seen to honour. Put the preparation in the contract — full scrape or spot scrape, and how many coats — and ask where the home improvement contractor registration stands.
