Northeast Home & Energy is a North Grafton, Massachusetts, remodeling company that's been putting roofs, windows, siding and insulation into homes across central Massachusetts since 1980, per the family that runs it. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor license (106353) is active on the state registry, and it holds an A+, accredited grade with the Better Business Bureau. The written record is large — 161 reviews on file since 2012, holding 4.9 stars on both Google (248 ratings) and HomeAdvisor (44 ratings), with 19 more added in the last six months. Many reviewers are repeat customers: one person used the company twice for a roof replacement and then new front and back doors over three years; another has hired them four separate times for siding, doors, windows and roofing. Several reviews describe difficult jobs other crews turned down — a 2023 review described a cramped attic insulation job that multiple other companies had declined before Northeast's crew took it on. The Mass Save insulation work gets specific praise for care around the home, with reviewers noting floors covered and no dust left behind, and one reviewer credited the work with a measurable 555 kWh drop in their electric bill. A handful of reviews point to weaker follow-through, mostly around communication rather than the physical work itself. A 2022 review said an estimate promised after an in-home visit for a roof and window job never arrived despite repeated calls. A June 2026 review described poor communication on a Mass Save insulation job and said the company asked for a positive review before the work was actually finished. And a separate April 2026 review said the crew initially left trash and screws in the yard, though the company sent someone back to fix it. For roofing, siding, windows or Mass Save insulation work in central Massachusetts, this is a long-established company with a deep, mostly strong track record and staff reviewers ask for by name; it's worth confirming your point of contact and getting a firm estimate in writing given the communication complaints above.
Great experience with Northeast. Owner was a great communicator and foreman Shane was thorough and helpful!
The insulation installation service was done in a timely period with a great team that kept me informed of their daily schedule. They also did a great job cleaning up and respectful of my home.
We needed very large windows for our porch. Northeast home and energy made the process very easy. The response was timely. The estimate and the installation were right on time and, the result was great!
What a horrible experience! This company is terrible at communication. I had them do a massSave insulation and I wish I had used a different company. The company has not given me contact information but they did request a review twice before they had done the insulation work. Upon arrival the installation crew decided my father was the contact point. My father does not live in the house nor is he paying for the work, he is simply male and I am not. I have reached out multiple times regarding information on arrival time, what the work with constitute, and if they had shown up for a designated day. I have not gotten any response. They did say that the were unable to complete some of the work because the initial evaluation did not account for a heating system in one area. This they assured me would "take a lot off the bill", great but what are we doing to make up for the heat loss? The crew by my estimating does about 2-3 hours of work a day and honestly I am not sure what that work consists of. As I say, if you have an option use someone else.
I am very pleased with the roof replacement completed by Northeast Home & Energy. From start to finish, the entire process was handled professionally, efficiently and with attention to detail. I also want to recognize the entire team at Northeast for their excellent communication and coordination. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the results and would gladly recommend this company to anyone needing roofing services.
