Northeast Home & Energy is a Wrentham-based exterior remodeler that keeps showing up in reviews for the same handful of trades — roofing, siding, windows and doors, and insulation — usually with a named project manager or installer attached to the story. A 2025 trade-press profile traces the company back to April 1980, founded in North Grafton during the 1970s energy crisis to help homeowners cut heating costs; BBB's own file backs that up independently, showing a May 1980 start and 46 years in business under president Richard Prunier. The reviews read less like a script and more like a running cast: John Prunier walking a homeowner through a siding quote against three competitors, project manager Kyle staying responsive through a job, Christina and Andy handling an insulation and weatherization install with patience, Diego's crew finishing what one couple called 'a beautiful job' on the house. A common thread across roofing, siding and door jobs alike is cleanup — reviewers repeatedly mention debris cleared and belongings respected, with one noting a crew stayed considerate of someone working from home during the visit. On Reddit the company comes up as an answer more than once: a 2026 comment says simply 'I had good luck' with them, and in a 2022 thread a homeowner detailed a $10,000 roof job with a 40-year warranty finished in a single day, with the tip to 'ask for Mike.' Northeast carries a BBB A+ grade and lists a long roster of manufacturer certifications on its own site — GAF Master Elite, CertainTeed 5-Star, Andersen Certified, and James Hardie Certified among them — which are the company's own claim of standing with those manufacturers, not an independently verified credential. That breadth is the thing to notice: a homeowner tackling a whole-exterior project can plausibly use one contractor for roof, siding and windows together. Worth confirming on the call which certifications apply to your specific job.
“I had good luck with Northeast Home & Energy.”
“Northeast Home and Energy did mine. $10,000 total; this was 2 years ago. My roof was a bit smaller than yours. 40 year warranty. Work was done in one day. Ask for Mike.”
“Founded in April 1980 in North Grafton, Mass., just outside Worcester in the center of the state, the company emerged during the energy crisis of the 1970s with a singular goal: to help homeowners lower heating costs.”

The workers were absolutely terrific while at our residence. All of them were extremely polite, professional, conscientious and very informative pertaining to their respective duties. They were very friendly, careful and respectful of our belongings in addition to staying on task at all times. We were quite impressed and pleased with their attitude, willingness, commitment, dedication and performance during the two days they spent at our house. We have already highly recommended them to several of our friends and will continue to do so in the future. They did a fantastic job and are certainly a credit to your company.
Had 2 new patio doors and 1 front door with side lite installed as well as have a doorway created between my garage and basement hallway. Installer was prompt, professional and did excellent work. Would recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Northeast Home and Energy for vinyl siding on my ranch-style house, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the outset, the representative and Vice President, John Prunier, made a lasting impression. John came to our home and provided a detailed and competitive quote. I had received quotes from three other companies, but John's professionalism and personable approach won us over. His presentation about the family business, founded by his father, who had a deep respect and commitment to assisting U.S. Military Veterans, resonated with my wife and me. The Veteran's discount he offered was the icing on the cake, making our decision to go with Northeast Home and Energy an easy one. Throughout the process, John and his team were incredibly responsive and attentive to our needs. The quality of their work exceeded our expectations. The vinyl siding has transformed the look of our home, adding both value and curb appeal. We have had experiences in our lifetime with other companies who add extras costs as they go, but John saved us some additional money as the job neared completion. This is the kind of integrity and honesty that one only hopes to find in a business today. I wholeheartedly recommend Northeast Home and Energy to anyone looking for top-notch service, quality craftsmanship, and a company that genuinely cares about its customers. Thank you, John, and the entire team for a job well done!
