Northmen Builders

Northmen Builders is a Boston general contractor built around an in-house cabinetmaking and finish-carpentry shop — it takes on residential and commercial building, remodeling and project management across Greater Boston, northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, doing much of its own millwork rather than subbing it out. That millwork is what collaborators call out: in 2024 LinkedIn posts about a commercial buildout in Attleboro, a development partner credited Northmen and project lead Gavin Hodgkins by name for craftsmanship delivered on short notice, and a 2025 design-press feature named the firm as the builder behind a residential ski-home project. One thing worth checking before signing anything: Massachusetts's registry shows the company's home improvement contractor registration (license 201114) as expired. Before booking, ask for references from a recent project, especially one that leans on the finish carpentry and millwork the firm is best known for.
