NuWatt Energy is a clean-energy contractor working out of 400 Tradecenter Dr in Woburn. It installs rooftop and ground-mount solar, battery storage, heat pumps and ductless systems, EV chargers, SPAN smart panels, agrivoltaics and solar noise barriers, for homes and for commercial, nonprofit and municipal properties. The Better Business Bureau records it as an LLC started in June 2010 — sixteen years — managed by Aiman Alawa, accredited since January 2023 with an A+ grade, and notes it is incorporated in New Hampshire with offices across New England, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Its own site claims a nine-state footprint. The permit record backs the volume up: BuildZoom lists eighteen projects and around ten permits in three years, mostly residential rooftop PV in the 5kW to 12kW range at a typical permit value near $26,900, in Lowell, Attleboro, Brookline, Newton Center, Plymouth, Melrose, Waltham, Hingham, Methuen and Pocasset, with records going back to 2011. When it goes well, customers describe it as unusually smooth. A March 2026 reviewer praised the planning, the installation and the ongoing support, and said the included monitoring software lets them track generation day by day. A February 2026 customer went from planning to active production in a couple of months. Reviewers repeatedly name individuals — Maan, Shehzad, Adan, Madhukar, Uzair — and credit them with fast replies and follow-through, and several describe strong warranty support years after the sale: one had a failed monitoring gateway diagnosed, replaced under warranty and fitted by an electrician the next morning, and another had a part replaced under warranty with no friction. A farm owner had a 30kW system installed without blocking normal operations. Google shows 4.2 stars from 53 ratings. The complaints are specific and they cluster in 2022 to early 2024, all around schedule and follow-through rather than workmanship. One customer reported a project promised in two to four months that took ten and a system installed faulty and still unfixed, and said they intended to complain to the BBB and the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Another said a heat pump job sold as a single-weekend install was still incomplete after two weeks of no-shows, with the old heat source shut off and a floor left unheated in December while tenants lived there. A third said the company went silent after weeks of quoting once they were ready to order, and never responded to calls or emails. A December 2024 reviewer praised the design and the clean two-day installation but said the assurance they would get annual net metering was wrong, that they spent $5,500 enlarging the system and netted less energy, and that the company would not stand behind the assurance. In February 2025 a customer cut their own rating from five stars to three, saying the installation was seamless but that four calls with the same question went unanswered, and noting the work was subcontracted to a local company rather than done in house. The recent record looks different: the last six months carry three reviews, none negative. Before hiring, ask who actually performs the installation, get the promised timeline and any production or net-metering assurance in writing, and confirm what the post-installation service path is — that is where every serious complaint sits.

I found NuWatt through Energy Sage after getting several home evaluations and estimates for solar panels. I was very happy with NuWatt's service in planning and installing the rooftop panels, and with the ongoing support since then. The panels have functioned very well. Included software allows me to monitor my solar electricity generation day-by-day or over longer periods of time. My electricity bills are lower than previously. As electric bills increase, the value of my solar panels has become even greater. I installed the solar panels to lower my family carbon footprint and to make our regional electricity grid more resilient to periods of high demand -- both ways to help with the important transition to renewable energy. And, when I sell my home, the warranty will be transferable to the new owner.
Thank you NuWatt for delivering on your commitment to install my 9.6 kw system before the end of the year. I am delighted with the urgency provided and the quick response to fix a microinverter in late January.
I reached out to NuWatt in 2025 and they were able to finish my project from planning to installation to active production all within a couple of months. Their service was responsive and I am loving having Solar installed on my roof. Huge Shoutout to Madhukar and Shehzad for following up on the progress, answering all my questions and responding in a timely manner. Totally recommend NuWatt Energy for your solar needs
Going solar was a big decision for me as a homeowner, and after doing a lot of research and talking to multiple companies, I’m so glad I chose NuWatt Energy for the job. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and exceeded my expectations. The team at NuWatt Energy was knowledgeable, punctual, and respectful throughout the process. Communication was excellent — they walked me through every step, handled all the permits seamlessly, and kept me in the loop at every stage of the project. The installation was done efficiently and with great attention to detail. The crew made sure everything was not just functional, but also aesthetically clean and safe. Special thanks to Shehzad and Azmi, who were my project managers. They were both incredibly responsive and patient in answering all my questions, no matter how small. Their prompt support made the entire process stress-free. I also want to give a big shout-out to Mann, the Director of NuWatt Energy, who took the time to explain the system design, solar market dynamics, and how NuWatt’s offering stands apart. His clarity and deep knowledge of the product and the solar industry were extremely reassuring and helped me make an informed decision. Post-installation, their customer service has continued to be top-notch. The system is up and running smoothly, and I’m already seeing positive results. I highly recommend NuWatt Energy to anyone considering solar. They deliver on their promise, and more importantly, they care. A truly 5-star experience.
Overall a good experience from initial conversation with Maan till regular followups with Shehzad. I believe it’s good value for money investment with NuWatt as the Panasonic panels seems well built and have a good reputation. Shehzad was real quick in replying and answering questions. My system is yet to start producing energy and connected to grid however process so far smooth.
