Sunrun is a national residential solar and battery-storage company that sells, installs and services home systems, largely through subscription and lease plans; its website says it was founded in 2007. On Google it carries 4.3 stars from 290 ratings. A 2026 customer who was quoted $209 a month against a $107 electric bill says the salesperson pushed a roof replacement bundled into a 25-year lease, and that a promised revision with a 0% escalator was never sent; that customer canceled the lease. A 2026 customer who had a solicitor come to the door in 2021 says no credit shows on the electric bill while paying Sunrun $154 a month. A 2026 customer said National Grid had never received any of the power the panels produced over almost 4 years, leaving close to $5000 owed to the utility. In an August 2026 r/massachusetts thread, a commenter wrote of catching Sunrun's sales staff in so many lies it was ridiculous. “I had the exact same experience. They were lying to me and telling me there was a portion of my roof that could hold solar panels that I knew could not. Is there any way to be put on a list of "not interested" to prevent sales people from coming to my door? It's constant, annoying, and they don't understand what the word "no" means. If I ever become interested in solar panels, I can assure you I won't ever purchase anything from this company simply for being annoying every spring and summer. Just yesterday one of them said he looked at my electric meter and how high it is. Why is a stranger walking through my driveway looking around the side of my house? Next time I see this happen I'm calling the police and will be having these clowns trespassed.
Rang my doorbell at 9:20 PM in the pitch black. Why would anyone tell teenage employees to do this? Unfair to all involved.
