We had Mike install a new section of flooring a couple of years ago to blend with our old hardwood floors. He refinished everything and they are gorgeous. The finish is holding up extremely well despite having three dogs in the house. We liked it so much that we decided to have him come back and install a hardwood floor in our addition. It, too is beautiful. Mike is a pleasure to work with and his prices are very competitive (the finished solid oak flooring was the same price as a good quality engineered hardwood floor from a major national company). I would recommend this business to anyone.

Mike has done work with us before (about 4 years ago) and we recently had him back to help us with our kitchen flooring. He matched brand new flooring with the original hardwood! It LOOKS amazing! We recently took a wall down between our kitchen and living room. The area where the wall was now needed to be patched and a few holes in the floor needed to be plugged where pipes came up to a baseboard heater against the wall we removed. We visited a few local brick and mortar hardwood floor places but when we described the small job we needed done they basically walked away from us and moved onto the next customer. After doing some research online we decided to give Mike a call based on his great reviews. Mike was very professional on the phone and could described exactly what he'd need to do to patch the floor over the phone without even seeing the area. What he described was spot on from what I've read and watched online. Mike asked us to email him some pictures of the area we'd need patched just so he could verify that what he was imagining is what he'd actually need to do and then he scheduled us within a few days. On the phone he said that he had a minimum he charges per job which he said almost apologetically even though I thought it sounded reasonable. Usually I'd shop around for multiple quotes but I felt confident in Mike's work after seeing pictures on his website and after speaking with him on the phone. You can just tell he takes pride in his work. Mike arrived within his hour arrival window on the day that we agreed to have the work done. He was very professional, suggested a few options, and asked for my opinion before doing any work. He also volunteered to remove the boards that had the holes in them where the baseboard heater was instead of plugging the holes at no extra cost. The floors on either side of the old wall were a little warped as well. We weren't overly concerned with it because eventually we're going to put a peninsula in that will cover most of the problem areas but Mike insisted that he'd sand not only the floor he patched but also the areas that were a little deformed. Again, this was all done at no extra cost to us. Before doing any sanding he again seemed apologetic that he needed to sand the floor and the mess it would make. He volunteered to cover our TV and entertainment center with plastic which I was very appreciative of. I volunteered to grab some tarps from the garage to cover our kitchen appliances but Mike also covered our stove and microwave with plastic since the tarps didn't span that far. We already knew that the floors wouldn't match perfectly after being polyurethaned since the existing hardwood is old vs. the brand new sanded patch but Mike explained that as well. He also taped off the area on the ground as a reminder to stay off of it and told us that he would be coming back tomorrow to sand it again and apply a second coat of polyurethane. This was no surprise because Mike explained all this over the phone already when we first spoke. Again, the next day Mike arrived exactly when he said he would. Honestly, the patch came out so much better then we could have imaged and for the amount of time Mike was at our house I think it was definitely money well spent. Mike treated our small job like it was the most important one he had, he paid great attention to detail, and treated our home as if it was his own. I would highly recommend Pernock Hardwood Floors to anyone in need of hardwood floor service. I know we'll be using them again when we decide to carry our hardwood floors upstairs!

Mike recently came and did hardwood flooring in our master bedroom. They, Pernock Bro., were one of several firms we got quotes from.
