Philbrook Construction Services Group, Inc.

Philbrook Construction is a second-generation, Cape Cod general contractor based in Dennis — founded in 1981 by Varn Philbrook and now run by his son Andrew Philbrook alongside longtime friend Josh Drohan, with the company describing itself as veteran-owned and family-owned. It handles custom home builds, additions, and kitchen and bathroom remodeling, plus design/build and engineering work, across Cape towns from Sandwich to Orleans. In a 2024 review, a homeowner who said she and her husband had owned nine houses over 54 years of marriage called Philbrook's renovation of their West Dennis house — bought in 2020 — the best experience they'd had with any contracting team; another reviewer called the customer service great. Two 2024 press pieces add texture: a green-building trade outlet featured a Philbrook-built house for its building-science details, designed with A3 Architects, and a Cape Cod Times piece on a fast, five-day home build named Andrew Philbrook as the project manager. The Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration (#200152) is active in the state registry and independently verified by BuildZoom, which also gives the company a permit-based score of 103 — above 90% of Massachusetts contractors — from 27 recorded projects, 21 of them in the past three years, with a typical permit value around $50,940. The Better Business Bureau rates it A+, with BBB's own records putting the company's founding at January 1981, matching the 45 years the company cites on its own site.
