Nick, the owner, turns up in the reviews as often as his techs do; a homeowner facing a septic pump failure in May described him coming by the house himself to look at the job and walk through the options. The history behind that is deep and current: 4.9 across 317 Google ratings, 203 written reviews going back to 2021, and 28 of them in the last six months alone. The crew gets named over and over — Trevor, Ulises, Ari, Justin, Marvin — which is the sort of detail that only shows up when the same people keep coming back to the same houses. One customer this June said they had been calling Plumr for more than seven years. The work described recently runs well past unclogging a drain: an outdoor faucet repaired and cleaned up after, a shower valve rebuilt, a steam system running better than it had in years, furnaces and boilers, water heaters and sump pumps. In April a general contractor hired them for bathroom and kitchen renovation work in Back Bay and downtown Boston, so they are trusted on the trade side as well as by homeowners. Two things to raise before you call. Price cuts both ways here. One reviewer in June put it plainly — the work is good, but they are expensive — while another said Plumr's quote came in a hundred dollars under a competing plumber and the job got done the same day. The other is a single one-star from late January, and it is not about plumbing.
