Eric Stringi started The Pool People in the spring of 2005, turning a business plan written for a college entrepreneurship class into the work he had already been doing with his hands — building inground pools. Twenty-one years on, by the company's own count, he still runs it himself. Reliability is what his customers write about. One in October 2024 called them the most reliable home service team they had ever worked with: they do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. A household on their first season with the company in May 2025 said the crew turned up right on schedule to open the pool. Another that month put it in five words — on site as promised, efficient, courteous. A homeowner who bought a house with a pool ten years ago knowing nothing about pools has had Eric open and close it every summer since, with parts replaced along the way. A 2025 customer wanted the owner to know his team is kind to her dogs. The work covers the whole season: openings and closings, weekly and bi-weekly maintenance, liner replacement, safety cover installation and equipment repair, on inground pools and spas around Lynnfield, Reading, North Reading, Wakefield, Saugus, Lynn, Peabody, Danvers, Beverly, Wenham and Middleton. The company lists a Certified Pool Operator credential of its own. Its 18 Google ratings average 4.7. One thing on the record looks worse than it is. The Better Business Bureau shows the business as Not Rated, on the grounds that its file was opened only in April 2026 and there is not yet enough of a track record there, while the company dates itself to 2005 and its customers describe a decade of service. For a North Shore inground pool that needs opening in the spring and closing in the autumn, or a liner or pump that has given out, this is a one-man operation whose customers stay with it season after season. Book the opening early in spring, and ask exactly what a weekly or bi-weekly visit covers before signing up for the season.
