Port City Flooring sells and installs flooring and rugs; its website lists carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile / stone, vinyl and area rugs. The company says it has been in business 68 years. A recent Google customer said Anna helped them choose a stair runner and Becky came to the house to measure for it. A 2025 customer said Becky helped them choose a new floor for the kitchen, dining and living rooms, and that Richard and Chris did the install. A 2025 customer said Becky returned their call on the Sunday before New Year's and came to measure that day, Anna opened the store for them the next morning, and the carpet was installed the day after New Year's. In a 2025 review, a customer described a carpet install with many curves around a large tile section of the floor, vacuumed clean before they left. A 2026 reviewer, NEWS CENTER Maine, said Anna and her team had a proposal ready very quickly for a custom carpeting project that needed a quick turn. A 2024 customer said the company helped obtain wood, carpet and tile for a home remodel project in Portland. In a 2023 review, a customer said owner Anna Crowley Redding donated carpets for classroom libraries at EECS and Reiche. A 2025 Reddit commenter warned against the company for glue-down floors, saying the owner checked a floor in an older home that was not 100% level and said it would work, and the installer insisted it wasn't necessary to follow the manufacturer's recommended installation method.
“They sent an installer who did the underlayment and flooring and insisted it wasn’t necessary to follow the manufacturer’s recommended installation method. I started getting nail pops from the new underlayment a short time later and the owner wouldn’t take responsibility, blamed me for choosing Marmoleum.”

So happy with my experience at Port City Flooring. First, the shop is absolutely beautiful. Anna and Becky have a huge selection of carpets, area rugs, decorative pillows etc.; they offer quality pieces in a range of price points. I'd been searching for a special stair runner for months, and Anna took the time to discuss what I wanted in a runner, learn more about our style etc. She helped me select a runner with which I'm thrilled; Becky came to our house to expertly measure for us, and she was so knowledgeable and efficient. I wish I'd used Port City's installation team, but I'm still so happy with the finished product. I recently reached out to Becky and Anna with a question about the runner, and they were so responsive, helpful and kind in their communications. We also love an area rug that we recently purchased in the store! All in all, I'm thrilled that we have such a gem of a flooring store in our city.
We struck gold twice in a row at Port City Flooring. A year ago, needing a new area rug for the living room and wanting to shop locally, we visited the store for the first time. Within minutes, working with the sales/design consultant, we found the perfect rug and it was bundled into our Prius. This January, tired of cold feet, we went back in search of a rug for under the dining room table. Again, like magic, the perfect rug was hanging there, on sale. Rolled up and (miraculously!) tucked to the back of the car. Far better than scrolling through hundreds of pages on Wayfair! Thanks, Port City Flooring!
NEWS CENTER Maine worked with Port City Flooring to do a custom carpeting project that needed a quick turn. Anna and her team were cordial and responsive and had a proposal ready very quickly. The installer did a fantastic job and we are simply thrilled with the result! Would definitely recommend! Outstanding service and wonderful customer service!
The smoothest experience start to finish. They helped me pick out the most gorgeous runner in my budget and it was installed within a couple of weeks. So easy. Best customer service and selection!
We worked with Becky at Port City to choose a new floor for our kitchen, dining and living rooms. She was most helpful in guiding us. Becky and Anna provide stellar customer service. When it was time for the install we had the pleasure of working with Richard and Chris. They are true Craftsmen who take pride in their work. Thanks to them our floors look fabulous. From start to finish our project was seamless, thanks to the Port City Flooring team.
